I don't mind the automatic Ford Ad coming up when I open the page BUT why for heavens sake is it for a big and very particular vehicle. Perhaps this the problem. If they had made smaller cars, which is what many of us are buying, they may not have had to sack so many workers.
Does this slow down at Ford in Geelong place their sponsorship at risk.

Id say no.
Ford will still be selling cars in Australia so will still need to advertise in some capacity.
The sacking of workers was due to slowdown in falcon sales, but ford still have a heap of smaller cars they sell.

If only Ford would bring this over:

Would you like to be specific and inform our posters about which advertisement you are talking about?

Ive seen it on other sites for the territory but havent seen it on this one.
Its a full pop up layover, I rekon it was on the cats site though!!

There smaller cars are pretty good like the Fiesta, Mondeo, etc but have always been horribly marketed.

interesting quote from a union rep - local government purchasing of locally made or assembled cars has fallen by 50% in the last three years. Rate payers money (and government money generally) should go to supporting local industry

Yeah I heard that a while ago, its pretty piss poor.
I think the huge issue is that they are going more for hybrids to "save the environment", with majority of them being bloody prius'.

Pretty bad since its been said that a Prius leaves a larger environmental footprint than a Hummer due to production methods.....

Totally agreed, tax payers money should be spent in a way that it helps create or maintain taxpayer jobs at every available opportunity!

It seems like you're more upset about the tree hugginess of the particular vehicle more so than the advertising itself?

Being from a rural area let me tell you something about small cars, THEY'RE SHIT! They're just like little dogs, no purpose other than make a lot of noise and cost you money.

I'm happy to have them advertise something that can drive on another type of road other than a freeway. for your edification, there are people outside your post code that buy cars, more expensive cars than your ford focus, and lots of them, and that's one of the reasons they advertise those sorts of cars.

How many fleet cars do you think this country uses in the mining industry alone? perhaps if Ford were able to tap that market they might not be in the shit, considering those cars are turned over every couple of years or when they are flogged out.

Isn't it enough that Ford have ceased all advertisments on TV of Falcon derived vehicles, now you want them to cease advertising the Territory? Ford produce a fantastic range of vehicles which cater to a wide ranging demographic, and you could say that they well and truly advertise those vehicles which you are refering to a disproportionate amount relative to their sales figures compared to Ford's large vehicles.

My Diesel Territory is the best car I've ever driven. And it averages 9 litres per 100 Kms !

OP needs a reality check.

My supercharged 5.7ltr V8 averages 9.4l/100kms in the last 12 months :P

Sure its because I travel 10 mins to work and back but still!

Drowning in a red GTHO brings less suffering than surviving in a Beetle :)
I don't know about that man, if you drowned in a GTHO that would mean that the GTHO drowned too. You may not suffer, but I'd find it traumatic quite frankly knowing that the best car ever built in this country was all but ruined!

GTHO?
Thin end of the wedge.
Next we'll hear about about both of you "coming out" as Collingwood supporters.

If it was the one and only road registered Phase IV, then yes, absolutely :(
