Week 4 of the first round of the inaugural Foxtel Cup competition gets under way this weekend, with 3 winners already through in Northern Territory Thunder, East Perth, and Williamstown. The winner of this
match will meet Williamstown in the next round. This match is one of several to feature the lower ranked SANFL teams than were originally invited, in this case West Adelaide.
This match represents the first time these two sides have met in competition. The NEAFL and SANFL seasons are both underway as we write. Ainslie coming off a loss to fellow NEAFL and Foxtel Cup compatriot,
Greater Western Sydney in their only match of the season, and West Adelaide on their second straight win of the season over Central Districts.
Given the form West Adelaide is in, as well as the match being in Adelaide, and the way Ainslie were walloped by Greater Western Sydney, I believe Wests are a shoe-in for this match.
2010 Form
Ainslie: Premiers, AFL Canberra
West Adelaide: 6th, 10-9
