Anyone having problems with Foxtel this week ?
A couple of people I work work with are livid with them for not answering the calls to 131999 number and having to wait 48hrs for the Foxtel techincal staff to return their calls.
I cant believe any company would consider it a good practice to expect their customers to wait 48hrs to receive a call from the techincal staff.

Yeah I was on the phone to them for hours trying to re-schedule my installation, also there 'press 1 for....etc' things weren't going where they said they should be going and kept taking me around in circles. Once I got through it was all good though.

Tell them to relax max...

FOXTEL is currently upgrading all satellite services to prepare for the new smartcards that are coming in the post shortly.

The reason is FOXTEL and AUSTAR are turning all the old smartcards off to combat all the pirate cards and free pay-TV that's out there at the moment.

Mike Hammond is currently on an advert that's screening on FOX every now and then that explains what's going on - ie you may experience some minor disruptions while your box is receiving the new information etc etc - please refrain from calling our tech support for 48 hours unless it's absolutely necessary, etc etc.

FOX is being flooded with calls and their call centre can't handle it.

So essentially Foxtel is chasing the dishonest customers at the expense of their honest customers.
As for Mike Hammond ads, one of my work colleagues hasn't had a Foxtel picture since Monday so wouldn't be aware.
This was a simple replacement for the box and should have been corrected within a few minutes.

Fair enough mate, but I can see why they're doing it and can respect that. Your mate's just one of the unlucky ones who has lost their transmission completely... personally the only problems I had were during the Charton vs Leeds match the other night when the thing reset itself twice.

Shizen happens.

Whenever I have problems with Foxtel, I ring up and they always give me the same answer.
Just hold down two buttons on the decoder box and wait for the system to restart, and it should be all good!
