Why did Carlton get rid of Owies but keep Fantasia and draft Frank Evans? Hard to really make sense of that. Owies would've been far better than both.

Owies wanted more cash, Evans will cost them next to nothing. And with Cripps, Curnow, McKay, Walsh, De Koning and Weitering on their books, they need all of the cap space they can get.

I'd imagine because they can pay Evans the bare minimum AFL salary available. Is he on their rookie list? It might be sub 100k
