He's retiring?

Just heard on Triple M and hoping I'm misquoting. Thought he was fit enough to at least go for another year.

Edit: Congrats to another champion of the game!

yeah just got lifted off the ground. great career from a talented player

Yep looks that way took his jumper off and gave it to a little 7-8 year old girl and took a photo with her.

Class act from Big Fraser :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

That was an exceptional act by Gehrig, he deserves the absolute best for retirement.

Best of luck for Thomson as well.

Yea he went out on a good note aswell which was good. We shouldn't forget thommo either he's been great for the club.

What happened in the second quater with thar ferral Richmond cheers squad??

Also just read Doc Clarke is hanging up the boots as well. and i would say we will have to wait untill best and fairest night to hear about "the man" Harvs

What Gehrig did at the end of the game was pure class - a great advertisement for the game. Not only to give away what would be a prized possession to a young fan, but to also have a picture with her. Well done Gehrig!

Totally agree - what a moment for that young girl. Congrats Fraser! :thumbsu::)

Although I hate Fraser Gherig, I wouldn't deny how shocked and upset I am. It was a great way to finish his career by kicking his last goal. To be honest, I had to fight back tears.

Congratulations Fraser on a wonderful career with the Saints and the Eagles.

Not the cheer squad members fault for a start.

Gehrig walked over to the Cheer squad halfway through the quarter, very close to a member, a foot between them maximum, and they were yelling in each others face! Was very entertaining. It could've been the boos while wrestling Moore, It could've been the "Gehrigs a w***er" chant soon after or just something he heard them say. Was a bit baffling he was doing it while St Kilda were coming forward but was good amusement.

All part of the character of the G-Train we all know and (mostly ;)) appreciate and the fun of the RFC Cheer squad. No harm done. :thumbsu:

LMAO no it wouldnt have been the fault of the richmond cheersquad:rolleyes:...what a mob of ferals...why were the cops dragging richmond cheersquad ppl away? oh silly me that wasnt their fault either was it Phoenix?

Fraser loved the interaction with the opposition cheer squads as much as they loved giving it to him. I don't think it's worth getting upset over it Panthers, Frase wouldn't have had it any other way.

A few of us at the game were arguing over whether we wanted him to go round again. I was definitely in the play on category. I suppose his critics would say that while he still had the ability to tear open a game he gave us nothing when he was being beaten. Personally I think he was more than capable of kicking 60-70 goals next season and force the opposition into playing a very good defender on him. However if he has lost his desire to play then he's made the right decision.

What a fantastic servant of the club he's been since crossing over from the Eagles. Few players have given me as much enjoyment watching him play week in week out. Not only did he have such a massive presence but he had a real personality and there was never a dull moment.

Thanks Fraser!

Its not like the Cheer Squad could walk over to Fraser could they?? So yes Fraser started it, forwards take that every game but Fraser wandered over. Therefore Fraser's fault.

No one got thrown out for the G-Train incident, only ONE for throwing a bottle after the Riewoldt "goal" and the supporter deserved it, no qualms from me for an idiot doing that.

So get your ****ing facts right Panther. :thumbsd:

quite sad to see both Gehrig & Thommo finish up - thought Gehrig could have played on another year.

his gesture to the little girl after the game, was fantastic - kicking the final goal, getting up close to the opposition cheer squad ...
for all these reasons - loved watching him play.

(please, please please play next year Harv's !!)

Loved the big G-train....he musta given Saints fans some great memories because I have tons of memories of Fraser and I don't even watch the Saints that much:thumbsu:

Loved seeing him get angry too:D

my favorite player when he played in the blue and gold. still enjoyed watching him play in his later years. very good player. good luck to him.:thumbsu:
