Fall Out Boy

Guest
Just been having a look at the list of upcoming free agents, despite popular belief there isn't much depth.

The best of the unrestricted free agents are:

Rodney Rogers: There will be big interest in Rogers because he is one of few big men capable of both being a presence in the low post and hitting the 20-25 foot jumper.

Devean George: Highly underated swingman who just hasn't been given enough court time in the Lakers rotation. Is highly versatile, being able to play the 1, 2 and 3. Is also a quality 3PT shooter. I doubt the Lakers will have room under the cap to fit Devean in.

Bryon Russell: Although getting on in years Russell is still a quality small forward. Is very unselfish and team orientated which will no doubt impress many teams.

Jeff McInnis: Has slowly developed into one of the premier PG's in the NBA. Is capable of getting 15 and 8 a game.
May stay in LA given that the Clippers have the most cap room of any team in the NBA.

Travis Best: Another good quality if underated PG, although there is a wealth of PG talent around he is still likely to get a gig for a team like Atlanta or Washington.

ZhiZhi Wang: Although his numbers aren't great there is a dearth of big men in the NBA thus it is likely that Wang will get an Eric Montross like deal from a desperate team.

Lee Nailon: Lee provides instant offence, there is always a demand for that type of player.

Thats the best of the unrestricted FA's but there are some high quality Player Option FA's going around, amongst them are:

Rasheed Wallace: Despite his bad attitude and temper there will be 29 teams lining up for his services.
He's capable of dropping 22 and 11 as well as hit the open trey, players like that don't come along often.
I doubt Portland, with its rich contracts with Pippen, Kemp and Stoudamire, will be able to retain Rasheed.

Rashard Lewis Young, 6 foot 10 tweener capable of playing 3 spots. Enough said.

Yep this is the big one!! This is the year i hope the Bulls can nail a big name. With Rose and all the young guys improving im hoping the Bulls can win enough games in 02/03 to be an attractive option when all those big names are deciding where to go. IF the Bulls win 30/35 games next season im pretty confident we can get a big name, preferably a small guy.

Who wouldnt want to come to Chicago? You've got Rose, a star forward who can do it all, from what ive seen so far a pretty capable coach and plenty of young impressive players who look to really become top line ball players in the years to come. Curry, Chandler and Fizer are drool worthy :D Hassell is also a good guard and we will pick up another talented youngster in the draft at the start of next year.

Really looking forward to the next couple of seasons...

As for next year....well i think Micheal Jordan should aproach Wallace and ask him to come to Washington. Portland despite there amazing play the last couple of months dont really have a future. This season is there last chance at a title. Kemp is old and is addicted to illegal narcotics, Pippen is also near retirement. Davis is getting on and Bonzi Wells is looking for a way out. That leaves a very unhappy Derek Andersen and Damon Mighty Mouse Stoudamire....

Jordan should tell him to come and play with him next year and help out the much improved Wizards. The Wizards have a future, Rip and Alexander are both young scoring guards, Kwame Brown is coming along and Haywood is a great defensive bigman. Leattner, Popeye Jones and Jahidi White are all capable bigmen and Whitney and Lue are solid options at the point.

If i was Wallace i would look at the sinking ship that is Portland then have a look at the up and coming Wizards and a chance to play with the greatest player of time. I know who i would choose.

All wishful thinking i know but who could say no to Mike??

You should become a spindoctor Jod.

Never have i heard so much crap in all my life.

Portland, even with an aging Pippen and Kemp, are still a 20 win better side then the Wizards.

PG: Stoudamire or Whitney and Lue: Tough call that

SG: Bonzi Wells and Derek Anderson or Rip and Alexander: Oh, another tough one...... NOT

C: Dale Davis and Shawn Kemp or Jahidi White and Kwame "DNP" Brown.

Gee, i can see how the Wizards will be better in 2003

You nicely left out SF.....you know Micheal Jordan plays for the Wizards right? Anyways im talking about the future, in 2 to 3 three years the Trailblazers will be a cellar dwellar, Davis, Pippen and Kemp will be gone, Wells wont stick around, he has being looking for a way out for a couple of years now.

Yes next year Portland should still be better but in two years...i dont think so.

NO, for the last ****ing time, MICHAEL Jordan plays for the Wizards, not Micheal :D

Anyway, right now, March 18, i would prefer Scottie Pippen to that broken down croc Jordan.

Scottie had 15 assists today, 13 yesterday and in the last 10 games has averaged 14ppg, 6 rpg, 8 apg

What's MJ averaging over the last 10 games? ;) :D

LOL....nice try :D

Must admit Pippen is playing well though but many predict this will be his last season :( I hope the Blazers go all the way this season. Im obviously a big Pippen fan.

Anyway i dont think Wallace coming to the Wizards is that far fetched, there were trade rumors before the deadline this season that he was coming to Washington.

Oh, no doubt that there is a good chance that he could end up at the Wizards, just not for the reasons you think.
Rasheed will go wherever the dosh is, i dunno about the Wizards cap situation but there should be room given they only have two NBA quality players.

Noting Keon Clark's name on the FA list for this year.

I wonder if Dallas might sign him.

It would give them a big, decent, defensive minded player at the five spot.

Van Exel stays in the pot for trade bait.

You have a point...he does go where the money is. Washington have a lot of that too, unloaded Howards huge contract and got rid of Richmond and Strickland all thanks to MJ. With Rip being the only guy really making a lot of money and Jordan playing for nothing then im sure there is plenty of cash to throw as Sheed?

So you agree, you think it is possible that he could come to the Wizards.

Wouldnt be surprised if Dallas go for him, moves LaFrents to his more natural 4 spot, Nowitski to 3, Finley to 2 and Nash at the point. Keep Van Exel for trade bait or use him off the bench for instant offence if he is willing...

The Raptors have an option on Keon.

I'm sure they'll take up the option given that their only back up is Hakeem and also because of the dearth of big men atm.

They would be nuts not to take the option on Keon...the guy has been playing some great ball this season.
