Port Adelaide Power
I think this match promises to be one of the matches of the round (don't laugh). Last year I would have thought it would be an easy win but this year fremantle have improved.

Fremantle are a very different side at subiaco and seem to have more confidence there.

It is also Dale Kicketts last match (im pretty sure) and i'm sure the dockers will try even harder to win it for him.

Ports form in the last 6 weeks has also been very good and this should be a good test for them.

Anyway I would like to hear peoples thoughts on the game and possible match-ups which would be interesting. One match-up which would be great to see is pavlich vs tredrea.

A very very important game for Fremantle- a loss would see them lose touch with the eight, and have to do more than win the rest of their games at home to guarantee a finals position. Without over reacting, i'd say more than any other prior game, their season is pretty much in the balance over the next couple of weeks.

Couldnt agree more...Freo's season pretty much rides on this game...i hope they get over the line.

I'll take that bet. I'll get Finlandia along to remove it for you next week.:D

Seriously, Freo will have to play their absolute best to beat the Power.

Maybe Kicketty can go out in a blaze of glory a-la 2000 demolition derby!!!:)

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fremantle will be able to beat port adelaide simply because it is at Subiaco and not at Football Park

Port are pretty comfortable at Subiaco if you check the last few results. Also will be looking to improve there already impressive away record. Port should, i repeat SHOULD win by 40 odd points. However, if we don't come to play then Freo are good enough to cause an upset.

Match up of Pavlich & Tredrea will be very interesting. Wonder if it will be the first of many great battles a-la Carey v Jako? Or will Tredders just talk him into coming to play at the Power next year so they wont have to do battle over the next 10 years:D

.....

huh?

While the ground is an advantage, it certainly hasn't been that much of one in recent years.....and if you're implying that Port can't win away from Football Park, I'd suggest you check your stats.

Port can win away, but it will be impossible for them to win at Subiaco.

How do I know this? I have the inside information.

And you wonder why people bag the **** out of you. Not suggesting match fixing are you suze? That would be a pretty serious offence. Such a mature poster like yourself should go to the proper authorities for something like that!

(sorry about the rolleyes kuep, it was needed)

Anyone else notice that suzi's trying harder and harder to get a bite these days? If you don't believe me, check out the "Collingwood v other teams in eight" thread on the main board.

It'll require a Herculean effort by Freo to go from that absolutely disgraceful performance against Sydney to beating the benchmark of the competition in one week. Sadly, given Port's current form and Freo's capitulation on Sunday, I think Port will be the first non-WA side to win at Subi this year. However, the game should provide some good matchups. Pav vs Tredrea is obvious, but also Simmonds (who's been very good for us this year) vs Primus, and the Haselby/Bell/Cook vs Francou/Stevens/Schofield midfield clash should be a corker.

Don't stuff this one Fremantle

Our glorious unbeaten run at Subiaco is at stake this weekend, Eagles fended off the Crows in a blockbuster finish and now the onus is on Fremantle.

So Fremantle it is your turn to defend the hometown honour.

Beat Port Freo.

WA is behind ya.

Excuse me while I, and no doubt most real West Coast fans, puke.

Count me in.

I still think Freo will give Port a really good game, despite the debacle that was Sydney. However, I tip Port to win, on the way to a Premiership.

I thought it was going to be damn near impossible for us to beat Brisbane, but i actually think its going to be a heck of a lot tougher for Freo to take Port- they are the form side of the comp, and a seriously good outfit.
If freo wins, I'll take my hat off to the portsiders, but i can't see it happenink.

Why have more West Coast fans posted to this than Freo fans?

porthos

If only they preserve the Subiaco home ground advantage then it benefits the Eagles, other than that I can't give a stuff about Fremantle.

Puke if you must but most Eagles fans would like the Subi mental edge over all visiting clubs.

By the way nice little talent prospecting site you got.

Dodgy quote of the week :D
