WEST COAST captain Chris Judd to win a second Brownlow Medal ahead of last year's winner Adam Goodes and Fremantle to set the pace on the field – they are the hot tips from the 16 AFL club captains ahead of the 2007 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

In a poll undertaken by the league, the game's on-field leaders are also united in the view that West Coast and Sydney will return to September action with Fremantle, while Essendon's Matthew Lloyd and Carlton's Brendan Fevola are the stand-out forwards.

And Carlton's Bryce Gibbs dominated their thoughts as a potential NAB AFL Rising Star.

At a gathering in the AFL boardroom on Thursday, the captains were asked five key questions on the season ahead, with the proviso that their individual answers would be treated anonymously to ensure personal views:

The five key questions were:-

Which seven other clubs do you think can make this year's top eight?

Which other club is most likely to reach the Grand Final?

Who do you think will win the 2007 Coleman Medal?

Who do you think will win the 2007 NAB AFL Rising Star?

Who do you think will win the 2007 Brownlow Medal?

Judd was nominated by seven of his fellow captains while last year's winner, Adam Goodes, drew three votes.

Fremantle received six votes as the other team in the competition, aside from their own, most likely to reach the Grand Final, with West Coast and Sydney receiving four votes each.

Fremantle, Sydney and West Coast all received a maximum possible 15 nominations from the other captains as clubs that can make the final eight this year while St Kilda, Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs all polled strongly.
