Fremantle has improved its accuracy in front of goal this year, converting 56 per cent of shots into goals.

Last season, Freo was ranked seventh with an accuracy of 49.8 per cent.

This year, the club sits second in the competition for accuracy in front of goal, just behind West Coast with an accuracy of 57.9 per cent.

Freo has kicked 84.58 this year and is averaging an impressive 14 goals per game.

It seems the fatigue, kicking at goals training is working.

I reckon it's more the positions we are taking our shots from. I think it was on Teams last week they said we were number one for set shots directly in front or something to that effect. Even when we are having shots on the run a lot of them seem to be in the corridor as well.

We're probably number one for set shots because we practice our sets shots after each training (or so I'm lead to believe via the training thread). We seem to be more accurate across the board. Pav usually needs a sighter at the start of the game but this year he's just kicking them through the sticks from the get-go. DPearce is slotting is goals on the run that he usually misses. Something's been recalibrated, I reckon.

Christ I hope so. If RTB is really serious about finding two more goals a game, more accurate kicking for goal across the board would have to be the simplest way of all to achieve them.
