Well i thought i might do something a little different and post me team...but there is some logic behind this and its more of a display thing than anything. Thought you might find it interesting to see how other people approach trades. I wish i had done this at the start of the season but think its probably a good time to start.
I clearly have too much time on my hands but have decided to come up with a trade schedule for the remainder of the season.
Obviously factors such as injuries suspensions along with form will affect it but i think its good to organise yourself into when you want to best utilise your trades as opposed to being too "trigger happy."
So here is the equation i have 15 trades left and the plan is to use 10 to strengthen my team and leave 5 for the rest of the season to cover injuries. Also i have $152,000 in the bank.
Here is the current team:
B: Shaw, McPhee, Adcock, Birchall, Walker, Kosi, Bock, (ellis, trotter)
C: Corey, Kerr, Priddis, Cooney, Ball, Lappin, (hadley, thomas)
R: Sandilands, hudson, (darcy, taylor)
F: Pavlich, Franklin, Tarrant, Cloke, Brown, Fevola, Embers, (davey, edwards)
Now for my trade scheduling and some reasoning.
Round 8 - The time is now to start using trades
OUT: Bock IN: JW Smith
Bock hasn't come up as i had hoped, and although he might bounce back he just doesn't score as consistently as you need. It's a risk to start smith but when you look at the scores Bock has been producing how can i do much worse? Frees up nearly 130k
OUT: Fevola IN: Riewoldt
Some might say bit of a waste, some would say it's the right time. Thankgod Fev didn't go down anymore in price. I was expecting bigger things from Fev this year due to a better supply but he is the lone ranger up there. He needs to go for a proven DTer. Lose about 30k
Round 9 - Cash up
OUT: Davey / Edwards IN: Campbell / J. Riewoldt
Purely getting more cash for the trades that lie aheaad of me, if riewoldt is names may get the nod ahead of campbell, although campbell does have a few years on him. Free up 100k+
OUT: Walker IN: Sam Fisher
It was either walker or carazzo at the start of the season, i made the wrong choice but as it turns out thanks to sams injury i can rejuvenate my backline even further. He may not be an elite scorer but he can get some pretty handy ones, as he did last year. Will only cost me 10k depending on their R8 performance.
Round 10 - The smiling assassin
OUT: T.Cloke IN: B.Johnson
Need i say anything? Cloke has done the job gone from 220k to in excess of 300+ by this week. Hopefully johnno doesn't go up too much so it doesn't eat too much into the account but plenty of money in their. Cloke has been good but does get the 50 or 60.
Round 11 - Midfield upgrade and cash up again
OUT: Priddis / Cooney / Lappin IN: Bartel / West / Cross / Judd / Stanton
Will largely depend on performances of my mids at the time but get the general idea, cooney has been inconsistant, priddis may not be in the team by this stage(although has served me well) and lappin well still a bit early to tell how he will go for the season but expect him to be around 300k
OUT: Hudson / Darcy IN: Young Ruckman
Willing to sacrifice a rookie rucker to cash up and upgrade to an elite ruckman in a few round to come.
Round 12 - Ruckin em up
IN: Best ruck OUT: Hudson / Darcy
Pretty straight forward trade, im waiting for my rucks to appreciate a little more in value, riding on a bit of luck here.
Round 13 and 14 - Yep still predicting
OUT: JW Smith / Midfielder IN: C. Kornes / (Bartel / West / Cross / Judd / Stanton)
This is where it starts to get a bit vague, but at this stage im still looking at getting another elite backman and centre in, if my mids are producing the goods may assess somewhere else but will look at that when it happens.
Well there it is, like i said it's more of a guide to try and stick to rather than anything set in concrete as a number of factors will come into play.
I hope you may have gained something from this for your strategies, whether it be to completely ignore me and call me a nutter, or use it as a way to control your own trades.
My plan at the start of the year was to go 1 trade a round and miss four for the year. I reassessed that now and realised it was too one dimensional
Good luck for the rest of the season, and ill keep updating this so you can see my rise or fall.
cheers
