So frustrating being a Cats supporter. I have watched us pretend for the last 20 years and still no joy. When I was 12 a mate and his Dad tried to take me to a carlton game, I wish I had gone as I would have experienced the ultimate joy in footy instead of following this weak group of pretenders!
 
Why is it crap? I am just fed up with being a promising side. We can't keep blaming injuries and hoping that we'll perform. Our players need to take responsibility for their performance.

For too long we've been a club that worships individuals, eg Ablett, Brownless etc. Other clubs that worship individuals include St Kilda, Sydney (Sth Melb), Footscray, Fitzroy....do you see the trend??

NO PREMIERSHIPS!

We need to be ruthless, lets get rid of blokes that shirk responsibility and bring in players that are prepared to do the hard yards to become succesful.

I am sick of spruking how much potential we've got and how good we're going to be!!
 
Mate have you got any idea of how many senior players we have out.

D.Johnson

Enright
Rooke
Wojincski
You take that quality out of any side and they will struggle. That is our FF, CHF, Ruckman, CHB and best onballer. You take out Bradshaw, Brown, Keating, Leppitch and Black out of the lions for example that would surelyy make i difference. Plus players like Enright and Rooke. Do the same exercise for any team.

Tayls, I couldn't agree more.

We have 11 of our best 22 out. Of course we are going to struggle against other teams pushing for a top 4 position.

Despite all this, we are still 3rd on the ladder.
 
Geelong didn't play a bad game overall it was just a rubbish second quarter that left us with no chance of winning that game.

The same thing happened against Freo, Collingwood. Once we get a few of those injured players back and make sure we get on top of those mental lapses, I'll be happy and you'll see a totally different team and outcome (I hope).
 
Our 2nd quarters have let us down all year, easily been our worst quarters of footy. And despite having 11 of our best 22 out as longbomb pointed out we are still 3rd, which shows how good we were when we had a full strength team on the park.

Woo there Jackie , back the truck up. Has not Ess worshiped Hird and Coleman. Has not Carlton worshiped Jezza and Kernahan. Has not Collingwood worshiped Daicos.
This individual thing is another of the latest greatest buzzword's to solve all, that coaches have come up with. Geelong failed because we individual. I say plahhh. Really, did the Bulls fail because of Jordan, did Manchester Utd. fail because of Beckham? We failed because we were not good enough. Now that may mean a lot of things, it may be that we relied not on enough individuals but in the end we were not good enough.
And this thing about wishing you had followed Carlton because they have had success, I sort of understand what you mean but don’t down play what a privilege it has been to be GFC supporter, to have seen truly some of the best that there has every been. When I think of Geelong I sort of remember that movie with 'Steve Martin' in it. "Parenthood". There's a line in it when they are comparing family life to a rollercoaster, some prefer the roundabout but I prefer the thrills of the ups and downs, said Martin's movie wife. So it is with Geelong,
It can be demanding to a GFC supporter, its not easy, it can be infuriating and it can exasperating but the highs' ohh the high's they are heavenly. Its a rare thing to be able mesh and celebrate with a total stranger as much as a family member. The communal joy felt is something I've never felt in anything else, the are times I've spent at the football , I'll remember till I die. Would I trade them for defacto flag for a team that meant less, not in a million, mate , not in a million
 
Instead of whinging Jack Packenham why dont you just ******** off?

If you expect us to win with 11 out then you are a tad dellusional and it is pretty weak on your behalf to have a crack after losing at the weekend.
 
Anyone see the back page of the Addy today? Just confirms what we've been saying. DJ not in our best 22 though?

When has Geelong been about individuals of late? As everyone knows we don't really have that many stand-out players, but rather a whole team and that whole team needs to be firing for us to play well. Maybe it is that we need some of these individuals to grab the game by the scruff of the neck when it is in the balance.

As has been said above, to be sitting in 3rd position at the moment is great, to be honest when we were winning games in the first half of the season we weren't exactly playing our best footy, yet we were still getting across the line. Injuries in the past weeks have definitely had an effect. We have a pretty good run home and if we aren't hit by any more injuries, regain those player, we're in for a show.

I think this just confirms that his mate that 'hijacked' his computer was indeed a Carlton supporter.
