Re: Full Bacl

Do you really think Lee would be able to hold that position down?
Didn't he have a big bag kicked against him by Jade Rawlings late last year in the VFL?
How would he go against the G-Train or Fevola?

Re: Full Bacl

Well he'd be our second choice, most second choice FB's in the comp will struggle against the best.

I think Rawlings kicked a couple of him, but if I remember correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong), most of the damage was done on Pendlebury.

He'd struggled against Gehrig, but I reckon he'd match up well against Fevola. Definately has the pace and agility to go with him on the lead.

it actually surprised me he went for reynolds ahead of him? maybe it was a case of reynolds being on the emergency list or something

I think there is a very very good chance tha bradshaw is coming to essendon through PSD. he could really help fletcher out and can really hold his ground. would be really good if we could get him. What about notting is he a big body. Could he hold down a defensice posistion. any body know

Bradshaw has re-signed with the Lions.

does nobody think it would be Kepler??

I feel we should give this bloke half a game in defence and half a game up forward. i would mind if they rotated him and lucas around. the only reason i say this is because i dont feel he is capable of playing a whole game they just yet. i believe he need just one more season before he starts to do it full time. i could be wrong. but who knows i could be right.

Re: Full Bacl

i'd prefer kepler on the wing, he is so agile for a big man he would be a nightmare to match up on out on the wing, thats where i think ihe would be damaging.

Smartest comment on this topic so far. :thumbsu:

I prefer him to be a attacking half back flanker, ala McPhee type,
but then I think he is too uncoordinated..

Re: Full Bacl

I have always been a huge fan for Bradley developing into a wingman. Just need to wait and see if it eventuates.

In regards to the hole at CHB, I know lee is developing but what are people's thoughts on someone from our ruck stocks dropping to the hole the help out? I know Hille is our No1 ruck, could he possibly be a ruck/defender? Don't criticize, I'm just throwing an idea out there for the interim. thoughts?

Yep,i said a few months ago that Kepler should be tested out on the wing more often.
Laycock will be put at CHB at times next year to see how he can handle it.
Hille will be used by Sheeds in the forward line more cause he is a good set shot for goal and doesn't get the yips.

I have high hopes for Lee solving our regular CHB position and hopefully he gets better with more games under his belt.

Good idea in theory, but then consider that Kepler is supposed to be an athletic big man. Then think back to games vs sydney this year and brisbane in previous years where Kepler got smashed on the lead by the gun CHF's. What hope does laycock have?

yes.kepler and laycock are a bit of a worry.hope they find their place in the side and nail down a position and just play better than this year

I also have high hopes for Lee and hope he can make that position his. About Kepler, if he plays on the wing you talk about them matching up n him, I dont think opposition coaches would worry, Kerr plays on the wing and Kepler definitely hasnt got the engine to run with him. Kepler played ok on the half forward line last year cause you dont need as big a engine to play there. Needs to increase aerobic fitness before plays wing and be able to run out a game.
