After numerous delays, Artemis 2 is finally set to launch tomorrow (fingers crossed)!

Australia will play a supporting role once again:

It's a nice distraction from global strife. How are more people not excited about this?

I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing pictures of the whole Earth taken with modern cameras. This hasn't been done since 1972. I know there are a few such photos out there taken by satellites, but they will be better taken by astronauts.

Imagine lying there in your seat, strapped in, and thinking, 'I'm going to the moon.' Fantastic.

It really is exciting. Particularly today's mission, Artemis 2 has the astronauts flying around the moon.

Of course Apollo 11, with the first landing, is the most iconic of all. But if you read up a bit on the Apollo missions I challenge you to not be more impressed by Apollo 8, the first time humans really left the proximity of the Earth and reached the moon and came back. It was the biggest leap in achievement of the Apollo missions in my opinion.

To be back here is amazing. Why are folks not more excited? I guess we've all got our problems now and Artemis has had little media coverage. The Apollo program has a truckload of public funding too, and people at the time seemed ok with that. Not sure if that would be the case today.

Just watching the live NASA feed right now, amazing, I hope this is the start of our return to humans investigating and living in space.

Yeah, and also a return to humanity remembering what it's like to have a bit of a collective purpose. Recent times have become quite cynical.
