Great analysis of how we play and what it means for finals:

That's a good review and a sensible interpretation of supporter reaction to the Brisbane loss.

I think it's overstating to say we've lost two key back half movers, because Burton is a superb kick too and has taken Houston's spot. Farrell yes, but I sometimes think his ball use is a tad overrated. When he goes long out of defence, he does tend to kick up and under and give too much time for spoilers to get a fist in. But we will still have to work around his loss.

I'm just so sick of not playing in grand finals. I don't care what it takes, just get us back there.

Hard not to feel confident against Geelong given our record against them, and the fact Geelong are 8-8 in their last 16 games.

However as per every final we've played in recent times, history means nothing and we can't rest on the laurels of previous results as we've seen with all our previous recent finals results being reversed from the previous minor round clash

It's a work day lol. What are you expecting to see in the middle of the day on a Thursday? People taking the day off to walk around rundle mall in port gear?
Just further highlights the dickheaded scheduling of the top two teams - one on a weekday evening and the other on Saturday afternoon.

Don't worry though, the Vic blockbusters are locked in for Friday and Saturday night! Go AFL!

Part of me is thinking it is a win-win situation tonight.

We win the game and we move onto a prelim at home.

We lose, it means most likely that Donuts is gone at the end of this season.

The preferred outcome would be to win tonight and then sack Donuts immediately :)

Even if it results in an 07 performance?

If you're going to be afraid of such a freak occurrence you may as well give up watching footy.

Have to be in them to win them.

Keep dreaming.

Let’s face it, we were stuffed 2023 finals, injuries and exhausted

2021 was a real missed opportunity, not showing for the prelim was a disgrace.

2020 were a dodgy call for intentional from winning against the eventual 3 peat Richmond, or what I’d like to call push players under the ball Richmond!

So 2020 missed
2021 major miss our own doing
2023 no chance
2024 we’re looking good, minimal injuries, rested so our pressure game should be high. Deep midfield, no excuses

No Houston and no Farrell makes me very nervous if the game becomes a slugfest.

I’m not sure what it’s going to look like transitioning the ball forward without those 2.

Think we’re going to have to be dominant at contests and stoppages , which with our midfield is entirely possible tonight.

Geelongs late outs will level things back up a bit only for the umps to put their fat fingers on the scale
