Greetings

My family and I are flying down from Brisbane on Saturday morning and want to experience the MCG. I was just going to go to the venue and get general admission tickets. Do you think that will be fine? Any other advice on areas we should try and sit etc? I am looking forward to watching Rance and Dusty live for the first time.

there won't be an issue getting tix for this game but you can order them online for your own piece of mind if you like, Lions Cheer sqd will be City end which is Gate 1 if that helps

Also I'll add my favourite place to sit is at the front of level 3 right behind the goals at the city end. You get a good down the ground view and you can still see the other end well enough. Best thing is that unlike sitting on the side you can tell better when the ball is heading through the goals. Gate 1 gets you right behind the goals and is the closest entry to Flinders st station.

GA will be fine, I recommend a few bays around from the cheer/grog squad if it's open (it was last time I went to a H&A game in 2014). Good fun & undercover if it rains. There aren't many bad spots to watch from.

HOT TIP: If you're on the first deck, go a few rows back from the TVs on the roof :thumbsu:

View attachment 258480 Wow, alot of sections already sold?
Level 2 seats that aren't being used for reserved memberships are only open to Richmond members to upgrade to.
Can't imagine there is enough demand to sell Level 4 seats.
Any Level 1 seats that aren't GA or reserve member seats will probably go on sale Monday.

I'm a big fan of level 2 between the point post and the 50 metre arc at the punt rd end ..left hand side of you are behind the goals looking up the ground ..very tigers centric area ...but we don't bite ......might need to book seats for that area though

Oops just saw the post above ...thought it was open to all

If you've got young kids, which I'm assuming you do, don't sit anywhere near the 'grog squad' (near the RFC cheer squad, punt rd end).
Personally I don't really like sitting on level 1 (ground level), but there are so many great spots to watch from, you'll get access to somewhere you like. Make sure your kids pack their warm clothes. Inside the arena tends to remain pretty mild, but the kids won't be used to temps in the low teens.

I also like to sit on the north side of the ground, which means you're in the shade, but no sun glare in your face.

We're offering complimentary kids' GA tickets this Saturday too - you can register here http://www.richmondfc.com.au/kidsfree (not available through Ticketek or walk-up on the day) - and there are plenty of GA bays to choose from, so you'll have no issues finding a good spot to sit.
