Why do everytime when we attack go down the wings and never ever go down the middle. Because the other teams no what's coming and can set up for it, if we much around with the ball.

Does anyone else agree with me on this?

I dont think its predictable at all. We attack hard and attack the ball ferociously, alot of the time we are countering from the turnovers created and we play thru teh best avenue going forward, which is not always thru the wings.

It's a disgrace, nearly every time today we tried to bring the ball out of defence and 80,000 ppl knew exactly were the ball was going. It was just a matter of wether the kick was going to be good enough to beat the carlton spoil. Makes it very easy for the opposition to restrict our ball movement.

We are getting left behind, Hawthorn, Geelong, Footscray and now Carlton have all rebuilt and developed and/or recruited champion players. We have done nothing for 4 season. Maybe its time for a fresh approach?

Thomas, Pendlebury, Medhurst, Cloke, OBrien, Goldsack, Brown, Wellingham. All champs or on the way there.

Nothing for 4 seasons? Get yer head out of yer arse.

After the Bullants/Collingwood game in the VFL yesterday, I was waltzing around the Carlton clubrooms and posted up on the wall for all to see was a big list of Collingwood (AFL) keypoints and diagrams, the main one emphasising your use of the Wings when attacking. When you're a team that notably creates goals from Wing attacking, teams are going to catch onto it, that's when you need to take a bit of a risk and go inside the corridor. The Magpies did that a bit today, but only when the centre was completely Blue free. IMO, I think your boys need to start taking a few more risks and mixing up the ratio of Wing attacks to Centre attacks.

If any of those guys are what you call a champion, im not going to waste my time with you.

Cooney, Mitchell, Ablett, Franklin, Fevola, Judd etc are a brand of player we simply don't have now that Bucks is gone.

Most of those guys u mentioned would be battling for regular selection at alot of other clubs, including Carlton. A true CHAMPION would walk into any team. For your reference the closest thing we have is Didak, maybe Lockyer

Playing the wings predictably means you have to be superfit or you going to be tire out near the end running all those doggies across the ground. Against North, Brisbane, and today we ran out of legs.

They may not be champions yet but they will be - Pendles will be in the compeitions elite, Thomas has every chance to be as well - mate all the ones you mentioned are 2 - 3 years more advanced then our guys - I willtalk to you in two year time - why are Collingwood supporters so negative!!! Drives me nuts!

Might be......most were saying the same thing about Tarrant, Fraser & Lonie at one point in time. "How good will they be in a few years"

Fair enough the others are a few years ahead (of Thomas & Pendlebury), but fact remains we have no topline players. Not one! Didak, Davis, Johnson, Lokyer, Swan, Shaw/s, etc close, but not quite.

We have been waiting for youngsters to turn into champions for nearly a decade. A few have come close, but we are falling behind all the other top melbourne clubs in terms of player development. Ppl forget this is the 9th season under one coach. Every other current coach in their job for that long has built a top side and won a flag in that time. We made finals regularly, but gee we scrimp and claw our way into them, we have never been a top side in the past 9 seasons.

To write everything off as, give it 2-3 years, is exactly what MM wants the fans to be saying. At $900k a year, i'd be wanting another 2-3 years too. Sheedy did it to essendon, MM is doing it to us. Good Luck to him!

Until he delivers a flag, I will never change my view on him. Businessman 1st, Collingwood Coach 2nd.

if our gameplan is good enough to beat the cats.. then it's definitely something worth persisting... our gameplan has been proven to work if executed properly coupled with intense tackling..

our focus should be "executing the current gameplan" rather than "looking for a new one"..

let's be honest.. we don't have enough talent to consistently carry the ball through the middle..

It is only predictable when the team plays crap!! It is a game plan that will be unstoppable when all our young players become more consistant.
