OF NOTE

- #16 is the top of this list, same as it was four years ago. Its a number of few good players...and Ben Jacobs. SIGH.

- Willem Drew steps into #28, which is the most worn number for Port at AFL level assigned to draftees (Powell-Pepper #2 - 20th, Brett Eddy #27 - 23rd, Joe Atley #30 - 29th, Todd Marshall #13 - 38th, Peter Ladhams #38 - 31st, Jarrod Lienert #40 - 42nd), and Drew is only the fourth player to wear that number at AFL level. High expectations!

- #33 has only been worn by 3 players during Port's AFL career, so while its low on the list, the 20 game debut season by Darcy Byrne-Jones makes it a likely good number going forward.

- Travis Boak just quietly holds the record for most games played in the #1 guernsey at AFL level!

- Number 32 is an appalling number. 7 players have worn it at AFL level (Tom Carr, Paul Koulouriotis, Steven Gilham, Matt Thomas, John Butcher, Jake Neade, Dougal Howard), for a grand total of only 68 games between them! Um Doogs...

- Number 11 has been worn by seven different players at AFL, and when Aaron Young (new number holder) plays his next game it'll be the first number to reach 8. Why did he choose this poisoned chalice? (Eagleton, Steinberner, Hardwick, Willits, Marlon Motlop, Banner, Butcher, Young)

- All previous holders of the #23 have been traded (Matthew Bode, Adam Morgan, Brad Symes)...making Matt Lobbe the odd one out...

- We shouldn't be surprised that Logan Austin (#25) looks likely to have a long career. All three Port players to wear the number before him played over 200 games (Nathan Eagleton 227, Josh Carr 207, Dom Cassisi 228)...though not all at Port, of course.

And here's a first 22 of the most frequent wearers of the most often seen numbers

F - Justin Westhoff (#39), Jay Schulz (#28), Brett Ebert (#33)
HF - Jarrad Schofield (#6), Warren Tredrea (#16), Shaun Burgoyne (#8)
C - Nick Stevens (#36), Josh Francou (#10), Dom Cassisi (#25)
HB - Brett Montgomery (#3), Jackson Trengove (#12), Chad Cornes (#35)
B - Gavin Wanganeen (#4), Darryl Wakelin (#2), Adam Kingsley (#29)
Ruck: Brendan Lade (#5), Travis Boak (#1), Peter Burgoyne (#7)
Int: Dean Brogan (#20), Kane Cornes (#18), David Rodan (#15), Jacob Surjan (#9)

Yes, Nick Stevens is named. Don't blame me, not my fault!

Sorry if Im reading this incorrectly, but didnt Marlon Motlop play a handful of games.

The list indicates he didnt make his debut?

Nah just that he played them as #11, which is outside the top 22.
