Guys,

Just purchased an X-Box 360 and am looking for some war games. Years ago, I played (on PC) a game which I can not recall the name off, however it was army based.

Basically, you were a sniper and you snuck into towns, hid in hills and picked people off. It was an awesome game.

Does anyone know of any sniper based games on X-Box 360 that they could recommend or possible the name of the game I previously played?

The Call of Duty games are good. The newest one has just come out Call of Duty 4 modern warfare. This game looks awesome. But one of my favorites has to Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas. Its not a war games as such but it is still a first person shooter game. Hope this helps

In COD 4 there is some sniper missions, though i dont think there is any full sniper games...

You can choose to be a sniper in the deathmatches online.....Its awesome picking off people that can't see you

Get the 2 Ghost recon Advanced Warfighter games mate. They'll be right up your alley. If the enemy sees you, you're dead, but you can pick off blokes with a 50 cal barrett sniper from cover.

Brilliant fun, definately not a shoot em up, requires some smarts to complete.

world in conflict looks good, im not sure if thats the type of game you wanted

also it may not dirrectly be what you want but Assassins Creed looks off the freakin hook, seriously i can't wait for NOV 15 to get it

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare is also my recommendation. A lot of people are playing Call of Duty 4 though..

What about Splinter Cell as a tactical shooter? - It's 3rd person mind you.

Like others have said, Call of Duty series, particularly with 4: Modern Warfare being released, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 1 & 2 and Rainbow 6: Vegas.

Another one which is still very popular on the 360 is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

For a single player sniper only game, I would suggest tracking down a copy of Sniper Elite from Xbox1. It's backwards compatible with the 360 and is a pretty good sniper only game
