We recently threw in some roll on grass and fixed up the retic. Im finding it really difficult trying to cut the lawn that is next to a raised garden bed. The manual edger isnt effective and the wipper snipper isnt much use either (although i havent tried whipper snipping with the wires vertical).

Any tips?

Whipper Snipper looks best option or sharpen lawn / hedge clippers that could be a good option ...try hedge clippers upside down , hard work though .

I don’t see why you can’t get this with a whipper snipper. The advantage of that limestones height is that you don’t need to edge the lawn.

This is literally what the whipper snipper is built to do in a lawn context.

I am confuse.

Anything that grows to the edges hit with roundup...thank me later. :thumbsu:

Use an edger or spade and cut a line through the grass 15-20 cms from the retaining wall. Then spray between the line and the wall with roundup. Remove the dead grass later. Nice clean finish.

Since I'm in a gardening thread, I'll pose this question.

I have some bits of lawn popping up in the garden bed opposite the lawn. Is there anything I can use to kill it off that won't harm the plants in said bed?

Been battling this big time since we moved. Some flog chucked a thin layer of mulch over garden beds with established lawn in it so now I'm going through it by hand ripping up 15-20cm depth soil and mulch to pull all the lawn and roots out that are starting to show up.

What type of lawn is it? Yes Round Up is localised to the area you spray, but make sure you use it when it's not windy. Also some PPE wouldn't go astray, that shits carcinogenic. Get onto it early because it's a campaigner to get out.

In my experience two hits of Round Up has barely done anything. I've now purchased a pressure pack and concentrate that I'm going to hammer it with.

The best thing I've found to kill lawn so far is degreaser, which I used while cleaning the cars. Much cheaper than Round Up too 😁

Bleach should do the job too. Also cheaper than roundup and less noxious. But it will nail everything.

in my experience couch or kikuyu grass is almost impossible to kill. You’ve just got to keep beating it back and digging out the runners/roots.

Couch is what I'm fighting. It's very resilient.

Pretty sure it's Kikuyu
