In your honest opinion...what should i get, the PS2 or the XBox? You know me quite well now and what games i get into so which do you honestly think would be better suited for me. Which has the better range of games? And the most important questions...is Pro Evolution Soccer coming to XBox and is the NBA2K series coming to XBox?

You have told us all that Pro Evolution Soccer is the best soccer game by ice ages going around. I like my soccer and really want to get a hold of this game. If its not coming to XBox then im not sure if it would be worth it. Does the XBox have any Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid type games that would be as good or better? etc etc...i would get both but im not rich.

Oh BTW...im still very happy with my DC and if you ever send those new games ill be even happier, but when push comes to shove, the DC is dead, i have to move on at some point.

Oh and dont bother answering this if the NBA2K2 isnt coming to XBox, without that game life does not matter

Well I just recently bought a PSX2, I may have been swayed to the X BOX if they had of been at their current price. The thing I like about PSX2 is the amount of games available NOW. X BOX currently has a very limited range, which will obviously expand over the next year or two.

It should also be remembered that the PSX2 is outselling the X BOX 2 to 1 at the moment. The X BOX has not sold like it should. If this continues Microsoft may pull the pin on the whole idea.

With PSX2 you are safe in the knowledge that lots of games are available, there is always a risk that X BOX will cease production. In saying that however the X BOX is obviously the superior console.

PES is a great game by the way, as is GTA3, Gran Turismo 3 and my lastest purchase G1 Jockey. Im addicted to this horse racing game, has anyone else got it?

Its up to you Jod, how about you get both

Jod at the x-boxs current price there is really no question about it.I have mates that have the pS2 and have since played my x-box and they say the difference in performance is huge.
The x-box looks better and extra features yet to be released are far more than wat is on the horizon for PS2.

Games wise the X-Box is still a little light on but that said Halo is the best game I have ever played.
NBA inside drives is very good also for you basketball freaks

Jod - if you want to play all the games that interest you, then you'll have to buy them both. (seriously.)

I'd get an Xbox now, and then in a few weeks/months when Sony (probably) reduce the price of the PS2 to either $349 or $299 - then buy a PS2.

NBA2k2 is already out on Xbox in the US. But whether it is released here is another story. I'm guessing it will be at some point, but i wouldn't really know. (and unlike the DC, we can't play the NTSC version on a PAL Xbox............yet.)

Really, unless you buy all three of the consoles, there's always going to be games that you'll be missing out on.

Hopefully Konami will release an Xbox version of Pro Evolution, or Pro Evo 2 or something. (let's all cross our fingers anyway!)

If you're still not sure, wait a while.

If you want an Xbox, get one now!

If you want a PS2, wait until the price drop.

Or if you want them both, then i'd grab an Xbox now and then save up for a PS2 at a later date when it's even cheaper.

That's what i reckon anyway.

I thought NBA Live 2002 was out already on X-Box as I've seen it in Electronics Boutique. (I think??) It's interesting to see the price drop so early on, and I heard those who'd already bought an X-Box were going to get $250 of X-Box products. (2 games and 1 controller)

Exactly!

Seindude....non serious ballers can have "fun" with Live or Inside Drive, but if you are a freak like me, then anything but NBA2K2 is unacceptable!

Gav, you really think that the XBox wouldnt bring out an australian version of NBA2K2? It's clearly the best basketball game going around and i dont see the point in not bringing the game to australia. Also sucks that you just cant ship in an American version and play it like on the DC. If 2K2 doesnt come to XBox i will hold out. At the price it is now though....i really should get it?

Oh and on a personal note....finally completed Shenmue today, ive been busy with Tafe and my new job but i finally sat down today and finished it! An awesome game and right up there in my all time favourite/best games. Bit annoyed though that i didnt get a shot at Lan Di.....gonna have to get my hands on Shenmue 2 now. Oh and you still got those memory cards going? May need one when you send the games...email me about it.

As my 2 FREE games are looking like being Rallisports and Inside drive.
They will go nicely with halo and 3 controllers

Seindude basically the plot is your an apprentice jockey competing against two other apprentices for the title of "Rookie of the year" After the first year u compete with the other jockeys trying to become "Jockey of the year" and winning as many races as u can.

I just finished my first year and narrowly came last It was a close battle but thems the breaks.

To play the game u negotiate rides during the week and compete on the weekend. In the races there are leading horses, horses who hang around the middle and horses that like to hang around the rear and then make runs towards the end.

U have to ride these horses differently obviously. You ahve to make sure you have enough stamina left to make a run at the end. So in the race u have to pace yourslef well, sometimes slowing down sometimes increasing the tempo. The more rides u have the more u understand when to make your move.

The graphics are pretty kewl and plot isn't to bad. It is a very addictive game.

Have you played Jet Set Radio Future yet????

Also, Microsoft are going to name a few more titles next Friday that you will be able to choose from and claim as your 2 free games. If Jet Set Radio Future is one of them, (although i doubt it) i'd get that and wait for NBA2k2. (Jod - i'll see if i can find anything about an Aus release...)

If JSRF isn't one of them, just buy it. You're missing THE best looking, best sounding and best playing game on Xbox!!!!!!

Im not saying Inside Drive is crap and for you Sabre, im sure you would enjoy it. But for someone like me it wouldnt be good enough. Simple things that annoy me that you might not pick up on is if Jason Kidd goes inside for a monster dunk. In reality that doesnt happen....other small things that you probably wouldnt notice, the post up game. 2k2 moves in the post are unrivalled, the hook shot, the fade away, the drop step its got them all. There hundreds of other little things that make 2K2 the most superior and most realistic basketball out there.

If your just looking to dunk on someone then Inside Drive is you game but if your like me and you want to play serious basketball then 2K2 is your game. Besides, right now, Inside Drive is your only option on XBox. Lucky ive got my DC in my room with 2K2 in the console as we speak

I finally bought G1 Jockey yesterday.

I love it!!!!!!

It's almost a an RPG-Sports game! Weird. Older-style type "gamey" game. Remind me of something from the Commodore 64!

Definately a game i'll be playing for quite a while.

In fact, i bought an Xbox with Halo yesterday as well and played Halo ONCE, (although i played Jet Set Radio Future for a while)

G1 Jockey is just too cool. I'm hooked!

Just to confuse things, Pro Evo will be on GameCube as well. Don't know about Xbox though, Gamespot.com have a good list of upcoming games at their site, just click the Xbox section and go through the list.

Jod - as far as i still know, the 2k3 games will be released on all consoles. (and in Australia as well)

And on top of that, Sega have said that they're going to match EA's release dates.

I don't think that relates to Australia though.........we'll probably get them a month or so later.

Well i was just at XBox.com and they have 2K2 and 2K3 on the coming soon list for the States, but when i changed to Australian games they werent on the list...maybe a little early as it said it wasnt due to come out on XBox in the states til July so maybe we wont get it til real late in the year but its a worry. Im really leaning towards the XBox at the moment but if the 2K series doesnt come to australia ill be very annoyed!
