general warning to all ppl out there who have cable, and use peer to peer programs like kazaa etc.

My optusnet account yesterday got suspended for "sharing copyright material"

seems that when i downloaded norton antivirus 2004 a while back, and it automatically went into the my shared folder, some prick mustve downloaded it and reported my ip address to optus.

I have had problems with optus in the past. this is the 3rd time my accounts been suspended. Last time i exceeded the upload usage... (did anyone even know there was an upload usage limit?) and the time before that quite frankly i cant even remember, but according to the pricks in the AUP department (acceptable use policy) this is my last chance, and if it happens again my account gets canceled, which doesnt matter to me anyway cause im cancelling it anyway (just waiting for the installation of another service provider to occur)

So for all its worth, be careful when sharing stuff online (even if in my case half the time u dont even really wanna share it).... and as much as i hate to do this to a company ive been a customer of for a good 3-4 years... when deciding what cable provider to go for, keep in mind that optus has suspended my account many times (last time it was off for 2 weeks) and im not even a heavy user anymore. I don't even use kazaa anymore (morpheus now) and i only ever use it to download software that i need, and songs, not to upload. Lately i havent even been reaching my download limits, so it really could happen to anyone.
