Fair - for all the caveats it is just ludicrous for anyone to say the same type of housing is just affordable for this generation as it was for the last.

Indeed.

The two income thing is a big factor in prices, but having to have two incomes comes with its own costs and drawbacks; and the price inflation trickles down to smaller dwellings that are the target of an ever increasing market of single people.
