OK now I'm getting the irrites.

This is only my view, but all this banning has got to stop. I'd hate to think people are emailing Bluey and complaining about some of the stuff that the REGULAR posters such as Dan and Joffa are posting. They get banned, while we still have all the unregistered rubbish cluttering up the board. Ah yes, you may view Joffa's and Dan's posts as rubbish, but at least they are football related.

So here is my opinion...

If someone has a go at you on your team board, either don't reply, lock the thread if you are moderator, and get over it.

If someone posts a whole load of stats that you don't agree with, and think they're a tosspot essendon supporter, well that's your opinion, not mine. Don't read his stuff and get on with your life.

If someone brings up a whole bunch of threads about himself, don't read them and deal with it.

Geez! I happen to like both Joffa and Dan's posts, and I want to be able to read them. If you don't that's fine, don't read them, that's your choice. But by sooking to Bluey and getting them banned, you take away everyone's chance to read them, including mine.

I'm sure there is room for everyone's personality on this board, so a little tolerance might go a long way here.

This has nothing to due with the issue of unregistered posters (eg JubJubJub) posting obscene crap. That is another story all together. I am not condoning any of that rubbish that occured a couple of weeks ago. I think that is an infinitely bigger problem than Joffa going one step to far occasionally or Dan indulging in some ego stroking.

That's my rant. I'm going to have a lie down now.

You's are all so scared of Bluey. What a bunch off sooks. He's the one who's banning everyone so go of at him, not everyone else. You're just scared of him banning you or reseting your posts. That'd really dent your egos wouldn't it. You want someone gone then get rid of Bluey. It can be done.
 
Oi! I'm sticking up for you Dan!

I don't know what the story is, but I'm guessing Bluey is acting on complaints (either on the boards or in the form of emails) of bigfooty regulars. I'm not having a go at Bluey because he's the moderator and its pointless arguing with his decision... the point of this post is that IF people are moaning because of other posters' actions, then maybe they should think twice, and show a little restraint.

Try and be a little more grateful Dan, before having a go at me.

The Dan24., who responded to your post on this thread is a fake. I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but it seems that people are just going to start using the name over the next few days (or weeks) to discredit me.

I am the real Dan24. I said I wasn't going to psot anymore for a while, but I have stepped in here to cover myself. I will not post ANYTHING on here for the next 2 or 3 days. Anyone who posts anything under the name "Dan24." in that time is a fake. I might be back here in a couple of days, but anyone that uses that name in the mean time is just a jerk.

It's OK Dan, I believe you, it didn't sound like you... I just thought you were pissed off at being banned.

In any case, hope you come back on to bigfooty soon, and hopefully some resolution can be found to the situation quickly.

It probably wasn't the best time to bring up all those posts about yourself, after all the problems we've had... nevertheless, its a pretty harsh penalty, IMHO.

I had thought as much, although I didn't know at the time that Dan24 had been de-registered. It was the "yous" that gave it away.
 
It was obvious here, but firstly on 'Hello. A Message' that it wasn't the 'real' unregistered Dan 24 posting. Thought that before I even got to this one.

Hope Dan & his stats are back soon. :)
 
OK the last couple of weeks we have all been bitching to bluey to do something about the ridiculous, disgusting, rascist, sexist posts. He has finally done somthing about it & we are bitching again. What Dan did the other day he admitted he did out of boredom & having a day off the next day, so he brought back all the posts that mentioned him. Why should we have to put up with that, going through pages & pages of rehashed crap. Sorry we don't need that, everyone was complaining the next day when they saw all the posts, so why get up bluey when he did something about it, you were all complaining bluey doesn't do anthing but when he does you get on his back. The guy can't win.

Well that's my point. Geez, OK, so there's a whole load of posts about Dan. Ignore them! Why go have a sook? How is this different to all that rubbish that happened with the Kanagroos/Lions posting war? What you are referring to has nothing to do with what happened. Let's look at what Dan did... he brought back a whole bunch of old topics which happened to be about him. In good taste? No. Tactful? No.

But did he break any rules? No.
Was he offensive? No.
Was he racist? No.
Was he sexist? No.
Was he homophobic? No.

So where's the problem?

Sounds like the rules are open to interpretation. What rot. He didn't break any rules. Full stop. Annoying or not. I find a whole heap of the topics and posts annoying, but I don't want the people banned.

I'm not sticking up for Dan because he's Dan. I'm sticking up for Dan because he didn't do anything wrong. I don't want to see anyone banned who sticks by the rules.

I'm not "getting up" Bluey, I'm "getting up" all those people who can't just ignore 25 threads about Dan and get over it.

If someone complains about people bringing up a whole bunch of threads about themselves, don't read their complaints, deal with it, and get over it. :p


I was one of those pissed off with what he did Sbagman (and I told him my feelings), but I do agree that banning him is too harsh a penalty..... (btw:- my topic titled "ATTN: BLUEY- DAN SHOULD BE BANNED!!" had nothing to do with this banning!! :D)

I doubt that it's a permanent penalty though. Dan realises he shouldn't have done it, and in a couple of weeks he'll be back. I've had my trading of insults with him, and it would be something I would miss if Dim wasn't here.... a bit of peace and quiet for a bit will be nice though. ;)

Actually, how about the ban is lifted only when Essendon loses it's first game...

Westy, I've read your post seven times now and it still doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't care who complains, blah blah blah its not the complaints I have a problem with. Complain all you want. In fact, I'm quite partial to the odd whinge myself. I love having a good bitch and moan. Granted, not usually about this sort of stuff.... but I digress. See, Westy, the difference is that when the complaints result in someone getting banned, well, then I think that's rather weak.

So that's not what I'm doing now Westy. I don't care, moan all you want. Just don't let it result in someone getting banned for something as trivial as a little self endulgance (sp?).

Anyway Westy, we know you'd miss him, after all who would you have to argue with, me? We all know you'd get pounded into the earth... at least with Dan you have a chance...

I agree 100% Sandie, i wrote something very similar in another thread a couple of minutes ago about the dan debacle. The poor guy just cant win.

I had to edit my post coz of that! I'll explain .... i'm an insomniac and i haven't slept for 20 hours and it's 6:00am here!!!!! ok?... But you managed to respond to most of what i posted, so it must have made some sense. The smilies are deceiving ;).

Anyway, It's Bluey's site and therefore his decision- Dan showed a complete lack of respect for the site and it's members- Bluey called it as he saw fit. Although i see it as a harsh penalty- i'm not the one to say whether it's right or wrong. What else do you want me to say? *<sinister look>*

One thing though:- "complain all you want- but if he gets banned it's weak" ?

So we've got the go-ahead to complain ... but if this complaining gets him banned, we shouldn't have complained?

Ignore that.... i'm not making sense again :D

If you set up your own site, would you expect to be able to run it your way?

As to Dan24 and his posts, I thought what he did was extremely egotistical. Whether that justified banning or suspension is entirely Blueys call.
I rarely read all of a long post by Dan as after the first few lines, the rest will be the same but put another way.
A short break will not harm anyone.
