So I've finally decided to take a 6-week holiday mid year and head to Lisbon (the place of my birth). I'm just hoping I could get some advice on the best (and cheapest) way to get to Europe.
I'm looking at booking a return flight with Flight Centre for about $2000 + tax. The flight goes from Perth -> Singapore -> Zurich -> Lisbon.
As someone with limited international travel experience, I just wanted to know if this is the best I can do. Are there cheaper ways of getting to Europe? Are there better routes to take?
A friend of mine (who I've lost contact with) went back home to Canada via Europe making short stop at each point. He paid something like $1500 to go from Perth -> Vietnam -> Mongolia -> Russia -> London -> Canada. This is the type of trip I'd like to take, ideally making a max of 3-day stops on my way to Lisbon.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
