May have been obvious to others but i only noticed after the 3rd viewing that with the momentum and shots on goal it could easily have been scores level at half time, thank goodness for D Jolly and a bit of luck... qtrs 1/3/4= all class.

As the collingwood haters kept repeating ad nauseum all year about Trav's kicking - bad kicking is bad football.

They kicked bad because they rejigged their side and had an untried goalkicker pinging at the big ones. Yes it could have been nasty but the odds were against them from the start. I repeat

Bad kicking is bad footy.

I agree on the kicking, but when we lost to them earlier in the season I certainly took heart at the fact that we managed so many shots on goal.

My point was more that on the day and even after the 2nd viewing I seemed to get a bit of sensory overload. On the third look, it became a lot clearer that if it was evens at half time noone would have said it was undeserved.

Previously I hadn't actually digested how dangerously close to pegging it back they had come, and how Jolly's attacking and defensive efforts within 5 minutes of eachother probably broke stkilda - towards the end of a pretty much a dominant quarter from them.

Just thought others might have had a similar experience.

yeah it was dangerous and they definitely took the initiative for a while, str8er kicking might have caused a problem but remember every time a goal is scored the ball is bounced from the centre which is an entirely different situation from trying to work it up the ground from the defensive goal line.
Agree on Jolly whose efforts all year were huge, made many of the boys stand a bit taller and was a giant in the finals.
