hey all u geelong fans i think its time to give colbert a break fair enough boo him if u wana but i thnk we can forive and foget his walkout on the club what do u think.

I hope the Geelong people give Leigh Colbert the silent treatment as booing someone only makes them play better, you only have to look at the game last year to realise that.

Geelong are better off without Leigh Colbert, therefore I fail to see the point in booing him.

Why should we??

I know it has benefited us now (even though the dillusional North people don't think so) but how are you supposed to forgive your CAPTAIN when he walks out and won't give a reason for doing it??

Sorry, so NEVER EVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

Found that definition yet Jubs??? :D

Because he is irrelevant?

It's no secret that i still love Leigh, but really, we are better off without him.

We should be cheering him if anything, afterall, we've been able to recruit some good kids thanks to Leigh, and we've also saved $400K odd for each of the last 4-5 years.

All good points, but I will never forget what he did to the club. Much the same way the Kangaroos will boo Carey when they play despite the fact that they are better off without him.

Yeah, i completely understand the animosity you feel.

I felt the same at the time, but i've moved on.

I was exactly the same in 2000. I still remember the first time we played the Kangaroos with Leigh Colbert in 2000 at Telstra Dome, the booing was unbelievable that night and I along with many others was angry. However, when you think about the players we picked up as a result of Colbert leaving plus the money we saved in our salary cap, you realise that in a way this was a good thing for our club, even if we didn't realise it at the time.

Or Pagan. I found that little episode quite amusing. The North fans jibe at us for our hatred of Colbert but there were no lack of knives out when Pagan left now was there? Same sort of situation and I'm sure North fans will still be sour for many a year. I would even say the Captain, who we nursed through rehab, walking out affects the club more than an overpaid coach leaving. Oh well.

I'm over it.

The Colbert conundrum was magnified by 5 because the club had hit rock bottom at the time. We had a whopping debt and we were without a coach. All of a sudden, the man who was supposed to be holding the club together left. Simple.

I personally thought Colbert was over-rated anyway. He hasn't exactly 'made himself' at North either.

To be fair, Pagan has been gone 6 months, Leigh 4 or 5 years.

I'm sure North fans will still be fixated with Denis come 2006-2007, but right now, they do have some justification for their fixation.

I'll give whoever I want a virble spray or boo, whenever I wan't. It's not as if I remember it the next day. Or anything else for that matter.

Of course.

I'm sure there are some sensible North fans out there who are over it already, good on them, the club will ultimately be better off without Pagan and his wage.

A few years down the track and there will still be others that haven't forgiven him, they are justified not too, but is there really any point? It's happened, put it behind you, its not going to change what took place.

Looks like we are still split about 50-50 on this one  Time to move on. Just remember to thank Leigh when in a few years time the likes of Spriggs and Enright are the premier midfielders in the competition and Leigh is enquiring about a nursing home position.
