What a great thang to do for the kids in Iraq.
"National Soccer League Champions Perth Glory is sending 200 soccer balls to the children of Iraq as a symbolic gift from its own young fans.
Coach Mich d’Avray was on hand on Friday to make a symbolic presentation to the Iraqi team, who will take back the gifts to give out to children in their strife-torn country.
Ten balls will be given to each player to take back to Iraq and distribute to children in the strife torn country.
“This is a small gesture by Perth Glory which we will hope will bring some pleasure to the youngsters caught up in a terrible conflict,” said Perth Glory CEO Jeff Dennis.
“The world game is a global link for children of all ages and this is a gift sent on behalf of all the youngsters who support Perth Glory.”
The Iraqi team has been in Perth for a 10 day tour, the highlight of which was the World Peace Game against an Australian XI at Arena Joondalup. "
