I think I mentioned this in another thread, but it's really annoying me and I want to know if anyone knows how to do this -

I made a Gmail account recently for band purposes.

Now whenever I have that Gmail account open/signed in, I find that I've been signed into Youtube with that Gmail account. If I 'sign out' on youtube, the Gmail account signs out too!

It's ridiculous

I don't want any link between the crap that I watch on youtube and the band email account that I control.

Is there a way to disassociate the two? I've been trying to find a way but I'm sure it's tucked away in the recesses (that's assuming it's actually even possible) --

Please help

After more research, I've finally had success. Found this advice and it worked --

You can configure Firefox to keep you signed out of youtube.

Go to Preferences -> Privacy Tab, click on Exceptions (next to the "accept cookies from sites" checkmark).

Enter ''www.youtube.com", click "Block". This will prevent youtube from ever setting cookies on your browser, which will keep you signed out permanently.

Make sure Firefox is not configured to clear site preferences on logout or on clearing history, and you're good to go.

If you don't use Firefox other browsers probably provide similar options somewhere in their settings.

If you still want to allow youtube to set some cookies, there are browser add-ons to blacklist/whitelist cookies.

You can also disable google+ which is the culprit for a lot of Google's invasive behaviour.

As far as I know, I haven't signed up for Google+

I'm making this assumption on the fact everytime I log into Gmail, it asks me to make a google+ account

Yeah you're not then. Not sure how I ended up signed. Got rid of it though cos it wants access to and records all kinds of stuff.

Lol yes they will. Must be vigilant.

Were you asking me about Gmail? I've been meaning to switch to something with privacy as a main feature, but it's a pain when running android.

I'm running Slimbean on my s3 currently which gives you a bit more control over permissions so that does the job for now.
