Not sure that Millers last two big ideas would have garnered alot of support from the executive at tigerland and one wonders whether it in fact it may have hastened the exit process...

1. we now understand that he was building a case to extend TWs contract immediately

2 He was quite open about pursuing Daniel Kerr that naturally would have cost us R1 pick and broken up the young playing group to get a deal over the line.

I would think both ideas are against popular opinion at punt Rd and may very well have suddenly left Miller out in the cold...

thats all ive got to say:rolleyes:

I have no evidence but I wouldn't be surprised if Miller's enthusiasm for a trade didn't have a small role in the boards decision to let him go. I liked Miller but not around trade time. His trading made me very nervous.

this one would have gone against the grain too ealry in our development of being a good site. The clubs that are up there have proved the simple formula is to saturate the list with talented youth and momentum will build as the nucleas forms with a young playing group, for us to depart from that before we've even become a finalist would be taking our eyes off the ball to say the least

His days of finding talent were well and truly over when he join the tigers.

i wouldnt say that, both Foley amd Kel Moore he recruited, good selections that were overlooked by the rest of the footy fraternity

Pure luck when came to foley as for moore he has taken 5 years to be an ok player but nothing special.

hes beeen our premier backman by a long way in 08. Looks sensational out on the paddock now, strong, athletic, like a leader he stamps himself out there

credit where its due

He been in and out of the side like a yoyo for many years now, even this year he's played in the magoos so I wouldn't be calling him an elite backman yet,all I can say it's about time he pulled finger out we've had to wait only 5 years.

No he hasn't - played the last two games last year and all this year at Richmond.

Don't think anyone is calling him "elite" yet. Just a bloody good player.

Those two stupid ideas are Miller to T ......and big laughs at all the sudden lamenting of him...time will tell if even bigger fools are in charge now , but nonetheless...good riddance to that one....:thumbsu:

Perhaps they could put you in charge and you could run the club in the middle of the night!

I stand corrected he hasn't played the magoos this year as for bloody good player he's yet convince me on that one, serviceable and done some good jobs on opponents this year yes.

You could well be right there BJ.
I also heard that he argued the point with the club about Ben Cousins.
He wanted him and the board said no way.
It was not exactly from a reliable source so I'm not sure there is truth in that but you never know

As a person who works with his cousin and talks about Kel ALOT. You know SFA about him as such the last 5 years he has had debilitating injuries in his legs as well as a touch of OP. He hasnt been able to string a season together in 5 years. Now go back to your cave where you obviously got your opinion of Kelvin moore.

He has shown that since he has been able to get over his injuries, he can play AFL and has shown this year, he is a above the norm backmen. Can you remember many times where he has had a "Gaspar" moment?

He's been beaten quite a few times in his career,I'm not saying he's a bad backman then again he's not very high quality one atm.

get with the program TB, who are you comparing him to if you dont regard him as a quality defender, to start with he's the best we've got and in my books he's right up there, outside of Geeelong , I cant think of a defender in other top sides that i would swap him for ...earlier poster was spot on...in previous seasons he couldnt get a month on the park without injury...we're really seeing what he;s made of in last 12 months, started in VFL finals

well done KM:thumbsu:

you are totally wrong agian big fella. i havent been on your back for a while but kel has stepped up to the plate this year and is a new recruit with skill, poise and speed

Dont forget the failed trade for the 6 million dollar dud fell through, otherwise no Cotchin and a large chunk of our salary cap would have been swallowed up in this and the inevitable problems that arise from it, would have haunted our club for years, long after he left :thumbsd:

Cant blame him for chasing Judd. most on here would have been pretty happy had we got that over the line. Its only now we have Cotchin we know what we would have missed out on.

Kerr at the right price wouldn't be bad either. Im not a big fan of Miller but neither of those ideas stand out as shockers to me.

Still a little premature to be calling him a bloody good player. Has shown tremendous improvement this year and I have high hopes for him but not sure I would classify Moore that highly at the moment.

Finally someone making some sense.:thumbsu:

Yup very good point and I was especially pleased by the 2nd point when he was gone that the likelihood of that was now zero.

Now I just hope that Tony Free isnt going to **** things up even more with his actions. He needs to calm the **** down. You're on the board, you're not the General Manager so STFU and do your job quietly FFS.

Good post. :thumbsu:
