Just wondering if any of you fine St. Kilda supporters know how his recovery is going and what are his chances of lining up in round 1?

From reports he's doing quite well, taking part in training although on a personalised program (like all others under the new fitness guru).

An early season start is still on the cards. Check out the West of Moorabbin website for in depth training reports. http://www.westofmoorabbin.com/

Really sad when he went down last year, he was in my supercoach team. I can't remember who I replaced him with...

Yeah I bet it was. :(

Not nearly as important, but our team, the Saints lost one of our best players for the rest of the season, and he probly won't be back till his best till '09. But as you say, losing him out of your dreamteam must of been heartbreak. :(

Yeah he is going good at the moment, he is running, i don't believe he has started testing out turning yet...
Anyway don't expect to see mcuh from him in the first half of '08...
For supercoach/ dream team I would get a first year player that is likely to play a fair amount of game time early, once he his value has increased trade him for Goddard in about round 8, by that point Goddard should be pretty cheap and about to improve...

Again not nearly as important, but the player, Brendan Goddard had to undergo major knee surgury, 8 months of rehab missing the rest of what was his best season, and probly won't be back to his best until '09 or worse may never again be 100% on that leg.

but as you say, losing him from you side for 10 games must of been heartbreaking.:(

I think that is being a bit harsh, the club were just as big losers as Goddard was, remember he only did his knee, he didn't die or anything...

Afterall Goddard still got paid...

My point being that mick13 was only looking at it from his point of view which is not that dissimilar to adamania11.

I found that remark a tad hypocritical

I was lookin at it from the point of view of adamania11 who seemed to think his SC team lost more by Goddard doing his knee than the saints did.

I was being sarcastic too, pays to get used to that. :P

I'd like to think that adamania was not purely focussed on his sc team, but was just contributing another aspect to the discussion. I'm sure he feels for Beeg as much as any of us - nobody likes to see any player having his career damaged just as he's about to go into his prime, especially when it involves the extreme physical pain of injury.

Beeg has had a very sucky 2007. He had his injury, and he also had the mess with his brother-in-law, which must've been very distressing. (I'm not saying he had anything to do with what the guy did, or whether the guy did it or anything - I'm just saying it's upsetting when a family member you care about is going through messy litigation and stuff, especially when that also means that the media leaches use it as an excuse to for a headline).

Saw him in the street - he looks real lean. Full credit to him if he's lost that much weight whilst being able to train with the group and build strength in the leg.

There was a Brendan Goddard down to play in my golf group last saturday. I was looking forward to getting some up to date info if it was him but whoever it was didn't turn up.

A lot of people seem to believe that he was just about to go into his prime, keep in mind he is only 21/22 so he is not expected to enter his prime for a few more years still, be patient, the guy is a gun, in time he will be a superstar...
