I'm hoping there is a decent replay, as if he landed a punch I doubt Mitchell would have got up, jogged off, and collected another 20 possessions. The lack of vision sold Bakes down the river and I fear there will be two sets of rules (one for the Saints, and another for a team to play off in a GF). I mean, there was a open handed whack to the chops later in the game, and the commentators say "oh, that will be all right". Then they see the replay with Max and Gunslinger Williams and they say "oh, that will be all right".

Fair enough they want to see the best two teams play off but **** ...

I hear Greg Burns wants to make a comeback, as he didn't realise that a fend off in the moosh was legal, and that you could bump someone in the back 50m off the ball like that dopey prick Campbell.

Some absolute sooky efforts by some Hawthorn fans after Hayes evened the score. It's legal except when a Hawthorn player is on the receiving end?

Even a Hawk mate of mine had a laugh about how well they did with the umpires (aside from the 50m against Osborne which I'd agree was pretty ordinary).
 
Interesting that we had BJ as 4th in the voting, but he did not crack an invite to the Brownlow. Bally only had two 4-5 vote games under our system for the year - maybe they think he will drink less (cheaper invite).
 
it didn't show contact, but clearly Mitchell was hit, and he went to ground and was in a bit of pain. That's high impact in my book.

Well if we get evidence from the Hawthorn medicos, poor old Sam will have been decapitated but was tough enough to re-attach his head and play on.

No video I've seen showed anything, so let me know if you find something conclusive.

Or maybe the AFL can just hang him now, like with every other Saints player. Bakers and the two of Fiora's were just Kangaroo Court jobs at their best (would expect nothing less from Andy D and the other headless chooks).

Don't take too much from the player's reaction - Wakes rolled around holding his head last week. Then you saw the replay. No need for that.
 
Yeh Squizzy we get a shithouse run with the tribunal. Hopefully that'll change but Bakes got 7 when there was no evidence at all. Biting my nails atm.

I think he will be in the papers for all the wrong reasons this week.
The replays do show contact. The ones that signd sealed saint saw would have been the ones that I saw. Doesn't look good for your man sorry.
 
should've been AA this year anyway. THey put bloody Tom Harley in the side which pisses me of because he doesn't do shit

Hayes as well as all Hawthorn players (Williams, Campbell, Lewis) all got off.

It's now obvious that Mitchell should be at the Olympics as cos Goddard got off, then Mitchell is a great diver!
From the looks I think if Goddard hit you and you were Mitchell - you'd damn well stay hit!
 
being finals and grand final week (the mrc are always more lenient) is one reason goddard got off, also if they had have wanted to get serious they could of rubbed five or six out, but lets face it,you could not rub three hawks out for the grand final. i think both sides should be very happy now lets hope the hawks can belt the cats

I've been saying this as well brother. I'm just confused as to what position at this point. I've eliminated the ruck and FB so far.

Which is why he won't get picked.

Needs to hold down one position.

It's like AR's in cricket. 2/30 and 45* probably isn't considered as good as 110* or 5/45.

Possibly the selectors need to add a position for the utilities eg BJ, Goodes and many others who can play a variety of roles just for BJ to be sure of an AA spot ;)

Not necessarily. He could play midfield and get picked on a HFF, B Harvey style.
