Plenty of reasons for anyone to have a rough patch of games. Sleep, family, relationships, mild illness, long year and feeling fatigued, etc etc.

Might be the first time he has had such quality attention in a game and is not sure how to deal with it. Would hope he just learns from it and moves on.

We see it all the time with older players, so why not an 18 yo?

Also not sure we should judge a player only from the Allies games when there have also been games against VFL teams as part of the Academy, in the NEAFL, and as part of a Qld team.

Did many of you guys actually watch the game or are you purely going off stats?? Scheer was in my opinion best on for the Allies closely followed by Watson. Scheer was great in close and always offered a good contest getting the ball to ground when forward. The Allies clearly have little chemistry and are playing like a side that trained together once before the national carnival. All other state teams have had squads plus or minus a few training since November. I really have my doubts about Kennelly coaching as well. At the completion of the SA game he made them stay out on the ground and do push ups on their knuckles. Because they played so poorly?? What does he expect from a bunch of boys who have trained together once.
Bowes played only 63% game time on the weekend and started on the wing for the first quarter opposed to petreski-seton. The ball hardly went out onto that wing and if you should compare those two boys stats for the first quarter, it will tell you the ball never went out there. It wasn't Bowes best game at all but he played the second least amount of minutes for the Allies.
Charlesworth started well but needs to work on keeping his feet especially when tackling. He also does a lot of running at half pace which doesn't allow him to impact contests.

Watched it, thanks for asking.

Kennelly has no clue on football, said Sydney can't lose the premiership. His daily articles are terrible.

Cheers for the insight!! :thumbsu:

Good to hear about Scheer especially.

SUNS tomorrow's team list is out..
Looks about 6GC Suns academy members.

We'll have a day out.. We're sitting just behind Clayton yeah.. So he can hear our every word.

Looking forward to seeing Charlie Spargo, son of a gun, go around. Reportedly a pretty special player.

Got the day off tomorrow, the kids in childcare, the Mrs going out ... looking forward to watching the NBA draft then switching over for 2 games of footy #greatday

Scheer outstanding in the last quarter. Finished with 21 disposals, 14 contested, heap of tackles.
Down by 2 points with a minute to go, draws a free on the boundary line. Looks inside, umpire calls play on, he then goes a banana off one step from 35 metres out to win the game.

Saw the first game, was at the Allies game to quarter time. Bowes was running water in his tracksuit and saw a young bloke he knew in the crowd and leaned over the fence about 5m from us and was having a chat with him for 5 mins during the first quarter, so not really taking his water boy duties too seriously. Seemed pretty relaxed with having the game off.

Coming up for the St Kilda game this weekend so should have asked Bowes if he was going to be playing NEAFL with Jaeger on Saturday?

Bowes and Jaeger in the midfield? I hope we see that for the next 10 years not just a one-off NEAFL match.

Surely we won't lose Jack Bowes to Essendrugs if they offer No.1 Draft pick as a counter bid?!! Tell me this can't happen!

Ben - seems you don't read the West Australian ? Found this on a Brad Scheer google search. Think the West is a bit peeved .....

Lol
What a crock of shit.
The first Suns academy player to drafted?
How about Joyce last year?
And Bowes this year coming.
And we're giving up multiple picks for him?
Hardly..
His in the 15-25 bracket
The AFL and Suns didn't go out and buy this guy and his family as a long term investment.
Wow this journalist is fecked. Lol

Agreed piss poor reporting - mixing several different stories and combining them in one ....at least Rainsey got it right !!!
