Mark Fine now saying that Gold Coast employed some of the people involved.

Gold Coast have released their own statement

http://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/news/2013-02-05/gc-suns-media-statement

In relation to the allegations today involving the Essendon Football Club, we confirm that certain individuals involved with the Essendon fitness program during the period under investigation briefly worked for the Gold Coast Football Club.

We have no evidence or information whatsoever that these individuals acted in an improper way during their time of employment with the Gold Coast Football Club.

We stand ready to assist the AFL with any investigation it is undertaking in relation to this matter.

The Club will not be making any further comment.

Bump. This thread has been spit out to discuss and document any progression of the investigation as it pertains to the Suns.

Sunny_ - if you or anyone on your board is able to add anything in terms of background to the above press statement (or merely confirm that it is remains the current position) then that would probably be very much appreciated.

No further update has been made officially, though this is now known:

RE: Dank. He was with the club for a short period of time. About three months over an off-season. During this time, he was NOT involved with any supplements, drugs, vitamins or anything like that. He did not meet any of the players and was only at the ground four or five times during this period. I don't know the reasons for why he left. IE: Sacked, left voluntarily, or what.

RE: Robinson. He worked with Suns during their 2011 campaign (the inaugural year) as the fitness Coach. Given that some 80% of the list was made up of 18 year olds though (picked up in the 2010 draft or zoned through 17yo access selection), they had fairly restricted pre-season and training loads compared to most AFL players.

So really, there's nothing to worry about if you're a Suns fan. The guy at the centre of all this, did not touch any of the drugs or anything that goes near our players.

AFL boss impressed by Suns rise.
Demetriou was also pleased with medical protocols that had been set up by the club.

The Suns were linked to ASADA's current investigation involving Essendon when it was revealed the man at the centre of the drug scandal, Stephen Dank, held a part-time role with the club in 2010.

But Demetriou said he had no reason to believe there would be any more links with the investigation and the club.
