Gold Coast?

Hey guys, me and 4 mates are doing a lads week to the Gold Coast could anyone recomend where we should stay, looking for something near Cavill mall but with in a reasonable price! Anyone got any sugestions? what is the new white water theme park like? One of the lads has never been outside os SA before so yeah, were gonna do the touristy shit! What else is reconmended?

A loooong time ago I stayed at the Watermark Hotel when my Sydney mates came up for their NSW schoolies. It was pretty close to the action. Have no idea of cost or what it's like now but you can check out the website http://www.hotelwatermarkgoldcoast.com.au/location.html Also, I recommend getting a three park pass to visit all the best theme parks on the Gold Coast. http://myfun.com.au/MyFun-Tickets-List.htm You will definitely need a car or transport to get to them, perhaps find a hotel that has a shuttle bus or can advise you on how to get there. The theme parks are no where near Cavill Ave, or even the coast/beach (except for SeaWorld). Good luck.

White water world is ok. Has about 7 major rides and a wave pool. Very similar in price to Wet n Wild, so both should fit the bill.

Both are practically empty at this time of the year too, so the waiting for rides is minimal.

Surfside buses run heaps of buses to the theme parks.

I would personally look at staying somewhere nearer to Broadbeach. Close enough to Surfers, but far enough away
