Lost: 22 Geelong footballers have gone missing in the Adelaide area. They were last sighted stepping of a bus outside an oval called AAMI stadium where 22 Port Adelaide players were waiting for their arrival.
Also missing along with the 'players' is an elusive item called 'a game plan' This important item, used by the players for most of the year, resembles hard, man on man, direct and fast moving football. This item also seems to have disappeared at the same time.
Anybody that finds the two items please report them to management care of Kardinia Park in Geelong.

Thank you.

I reckon Geelong had their kick in the guts in the first few minutes when that goal was called a point. They lost all confidence then. They tried to come back at the end of the first qtr with a bit of physical grunt, but it wasn't well checked and was clumsy and futile.

Bad luck catters, keep your chins up coz you still got next week to come. A second chance is better than no chance at all. And remember, my lot lost their QF last year at an away venue, and still got up to grab the flag. All is not lost!

(p.s. It was a ********ing goal! stupid goal umpire)

I think you guys are being a little tough on your boys, can i give a few thoughts from an opp supporter that would love to be in finals please?

-Its always tough playing your first final away- interstate to a team that was hell bent on winning their 1st final after 2 years of losing in front of their fans in week 1.
-The team has a group of good young kids, that have played so well for 22 weeks, looked just a little overawed with the difference in pressure and step up in intensity, they will know know this for next week.
-After initial onslaught, you guys went even on the board from about halfway through the 2nd to full time, and certainly match the power in the midfield and down back.

-All in all,it will be a great learning curb for the players and they will come out and apply what they learnt this week and beat essendon and defeat them comfortably.
The game doesnt lie.
Good luck for the rest of finals series.

First 15 minutes we did ok.. would have been a goal up early except for Stevie Wonder getting a goal umpiring gig... momentum in footy is a big factor.

The next quarter & a half we were very ordinary i think.

The last half we had a real crack but unfortunately the game was already gone.

overall a very disappointing result but i'm sure the team will benefit from the experience... providing we bounce back & knock the bombers out next week then the damage will be minimal.

Spriggs & Kingsley have gotta go.. we can never be a serious contender while these 2 'male models' are getting a game.

Finals footy. The boys looked like they had already played the game , over and over , in their minds. Their previous soft hands were not to be seen, replaced with hard, tense hands that fumbled, they continued to have the bounce of the ball run against them but they also failed to read it, often running over it.Neally all played a stressed form of footy that originates from pre-match nerves, bad passes, bad choices and in the end bad Kharma.

I thought Corey and Milburn played well early when both sides were playing nervy footy.Steve Johnson showed quite a bit in a side that lacked the mesh it has shown all year.Really it was the last five minutes of the first and most the second was the killer ,the experience of Port coming to the fore.Their players coming to recognise that they had the run of it and making the most of it.
The 2nd half showed that we do have a plan that prevented a StKilda happening to us but it also showed we still , at this time , are not good enough. No shame in this.We played the top side , on their turf, with a big point to prove and If I was them Id thank my lucky stars that we finished 4th and not Sydney because its was our failure that allowed them to get going.

I think most of our guys wont be happy with themselves , their pride will be dented but there are plenty of sides who come back from worse than we were today, us in 1989 in our first final aginst Ess. got us beat by 80 odd points two weeks later we beat them by them same.
Our guys will be better for the run and playing the Dons at the G is a match more to our liking.

We did not play true to form.

If we are gonna have a bad one, better to get it out of the way now, so we still have another chance.

thanks roo9699.

today was not our day. The roll of the green green went against us early and port never looked back.

I was proud of the boys in the second half.
They will bounce back next week for sure.

I think we certainly looked overwhelmed at stages during the game today however we started quite well. We showed spirit at least in the second half but it simply was not our day today. Every thing we tried particularly in the first half turned to nothing and everything they did was gold that happens. I think positives were steve johnson, milburn, corey and riccardi was great in the third at winning the ball. I reckon we need to get rid of spriggs and bring in enright spriggs has no skills under pressure. I hope GAJ comes up i think mooney is in real trouble and so is Kingsley. We are a superior side to the bombers and our midfield should take control on sat night all i can say is go Cats !!!
