I dont, I think it is a ploy to get members or to keep the ones they have. For how many years have they come out and mentioned the F word. I'm sick of it. Every year supporters go in with optimism to get shot down in the end.

We've got 8 to 10 wins in use and more if everyone stays fit. Those who saw our last 3 rounds would know this. Its all good boys . I just don't know about finals but I,ve seen stranger things. Kanga roos ring a bell. Now thats a football club with great culture. We can only hope. Wallace is not coaching for his career this year either like every one keeps saying. Thats is not all he said at all. He also said that RICHMOND is exactly where they need to be and are ready to go, no excuses if WE dont make finals.

If he said that than he has changed his tune in the space of one season. Even your senior players vented there anger when ST came out and said that the club is rebuilding and can not realistically challenge for a premiership for another 3-5 years. This is a fact and the club actually went into damage control over this. I seem to recall him and the Richmond borad fronting the media to try and wiggle there way out of the stuff up they had made. Richo, Johnson and a few others were quite peeved at ST for this. Maybe that is why he changed his philosophy all of a sudden.

Its interesting that in his latest interview he said that all clubs should always be thinking about winning a premiership yet in the memo at Richmond he previously said they have no realistic chance of winning a flag for atleast 3 years. Talk about a walking contraditction. I reckon he has been frying himself in those sun beds for too long....

so your suggesting that telling a list with an average of about 23-24 with numerous players having played under 100 games that if they dont make finals that they have failed. What happens if they don't make the finals? The media is going to jump on them and go well look you didn't make the finals the team has failed and then they begin to scrutinise the players etc. Wording to this effect "You would be expecting that leaders at the club in the ilk of Delideo, Foley, Tambling will take the next step and lead the charge up the ladder"... "We were reluctant to trade Shultz because we know how much potential he has, him and Reiwoldt we would expect to step up and contribute with at least 20-30 goals each this year" Set some goals like that and it encourages the young guys, it gives them drive. I think saying exactly what he has says it gives the young kids and the media the idea that IF we dont make the finals 2008 was a failure... imagine the mindset should you guys lose the first 5-7 games of the year... IMO at the moment individual goals for 2008 are what the club should be aiming for with 2009 bringing all those efforts intogether to go for finals...

Good try, but you stuffed up again.

In TW's media talk before this season, he never said we wouldn't be trying for a flag every season. He actually said that our list wouldn't be at its best and most potent for a number of years. The media interpreted that the way they wanted to (ie, TW saying RFC wouldn't win a premiership until 2011) and fed it to simple members of the public like you, who lap it up mindlessly without question.
