The manager of Hammil, Allan, Murphy, we now only have Kouta and Hulme left I think.

He has been a pain in the asre and sooner we see the back of him the better!

So basically, by the end of 2004 we will only have Kouta left. And by the end of 2005 we will have paid Kouta so much money that the club will offer him match payments for his finally contract and be totally immovable in any dealings with Allison on the matter.

I don't think the Bombers will have a problem. Murphy has little value and I reckon Allison's real power at Carlton came from the fact he managed so many of our players. The threat was always there that he would encourage all of his clients to leave the club which would have left a gaping hole at the time, not to mention alienating a large group of fans that cared little for how much a player got paid as long as they were playing for Carlton.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Just heard that he is McKay's manager, that means that McKay's contemoplation of retirement is a scam for more money, " hold out untill the offer starts to increase".

I think the key with these player managers is not to let them get a strong foothold in our club by managing several players. I think we let it be known that we won't allow a monopoly from one manager so that we can be held to ransom. I think the players now know our position on Allison in particular.

It takes time to turnover so many players under one person's control just like it takes time to turnover a wooden spoon list. We have achieved a significant amount of both and with McKay and Franchina either gone or there for one more year and Kouta with probably two years left and no more hefty contracts forthcoming, then we are coming out the other side. Hulme even if he stays beyond the next two years will be in a majority and I wouldn't mind betting he might think his chances would be better under another manager rather than diminished Dave. Of course Pup may have signed a player/manager agreement for the length of his career so he will be the one struggling to make the deal from now on.

Things are looking up.

Well Kouta has seen out his contract negotiations, may as well pay old Dave his commission now and tell him to get on his bike.

No Hamill, no Murphy, no Allan, no McKay, Franchina on a knife edge, Kouta all stitched up and Hulme not as valuable a commodity as he probably thought he was. Breath that air folks, it is starting to freshen a bit.

its like this, he has effectively lost all power at carlton

he has 3 players left, kouta, hulme and franchina

frnachina is lucky to still be on teh list, nobodies gonna pay any attaention if he threatens to take him to another club, theres one less pawn.

kouta will finish his career at carlton specially now that hes captain. dave can kick and scream all he wants about money but nobody else can afford to pay even half of what we can fro kouta... he goes to another club they can vet list him and at 31, with a dodgy knee no club is going to throw that osrt of money at him. he'll still whinge in the paper but it means nothing, he cant go anywhere.

finally hulmey is a serviceable player, but if despearet dave pull his old "Carltons offer is an insult we're going elsewhere " trick nobodies going to pay much attention, he doesnt have the headline power of hamill, kout aor macca.

his routine of playing media negotiator is drawing to a close, with carlton at least. I expect any players coming to teh club would have been told exactly what the clubs thinks of him and how it affects their dealings (ask matty how dave threatened to walk until we recruited another ruckman and slashed his salary from 450 to 50)

glory glory hallelujah
