Firstly I would have posted this in rd 17 trades but I would like to gather the opinion of BF SCers now that God aka GAJ looks to be cooked and his season likely over. Let's be honest it would be stupid for him to come back for the last 3 or so rounds, and even if he does will he be that useful in output? (Please feel free to move this thread or whatever aswell Jiska and Sir Skid #skidformod
)
This unfortunate injury will no doubt make SC less interesting as GAJ will just become the main Mid that every side is missing. I personally want to put a reasonably big POD in his spot, as at 443rd a cookie cutter side wont do me any favours of finishing as high as I possibly can for the season.
My midfield of Danger, Pendles, Hanners, Parker, Sloane, Ward, and Neale has treated me very well thus far, but are also very high-owned players. I could simply go Ablett>Selwood and just watch the rest of the season pan out but I feel that it's almost to easy.
I am assuming that most will already have at least 1 of if not both Pendles and Hanners so I'm just chucking those in there own bracket because if you don't have one of the two its a no brainer to bring the other one in.
So I put a poll to you all, who will you be bringing in?
Here are some stats I gathered as I have been completely bored sitting in lectures at uni all day.
Selwood
In wins: 125.1 !!!
Losses: 86.4 !!!
Run home: Freo (bold denotes win) Adel & WB (real 50/50s, but both at Simonds) then Ess Rich Bris Melb
****ing hard to go past considering the Cats will likely finish very strong in that last month.
Neale
Wins: 112.6 (with a 50 against Bris)
Losses: 114.3
Run home: Likely to lose 6 if not all 7. But 5 of the 7 are at Domain so lets look at his avg at home.
Avg at home: 122.1
Killing it whether Freo is down by 10 goals or winning the game. Chucks them on his back every week.
Sloane
Wins: 111.3
Losses: 105.8
Run home: Coll Geel Ess Bris Freo Port WCE
Also avgs 120.7 at home and 5 of his 7 are at home too.
Mr consistent this year has gone under 100 6 times this year but keeps it above 80 every time. Starting to hit his straps with a 123.6 5 round avg.
Ward
Wins: 107.6
Losses: 105.2 (heightened by a 142 against Melb rd 1)
Run home: Bris Port Rich GC WCE (at Spotless) Freo North (huge game, and at Etihad)
If I didn't have him, I'd advise to probably stay away, better options that can storm you home I feel.
Bont
Wins: 113.1
Losses: 87.5
Run home: GC StK Geel North Coll Ess Freo
More importantly The Bont is in a rich vein of form and his 5rd ave is ****ing 125. Only in 5.4% and could be a massive POD coming home.
Steven
Wins: 110.3
Losses: 86
Run home: Pegging losses against North Sydney and the Dogs. But have every chance to win against Melb, Carl, Rich and Bris. Look at it however you wish, also he doesn't leave Melbourne for the rest of the year.
There are a few other PODs, like Cotchin/Sidey/Treloar/JPK.
Probably - hopefully - this is the last trade any of us have to make in the mids at least until finals (stay healthy guys) that will have huge ramifications to how your midfield brings you home.
Also hopefully Gary can come back and put a full season of good footy together soon enough as it's saddening to see the champ become a shadow of his former self
EDIT: Out for the season...
