I thought we did. Roughead, Frankiln, etc.

We need more.

Look at the quality KPP's we have on our list.

Croad is quality (AA proves that), Roughead is definitely a talent, Franklin is also getting better. Who else do we have besides them?

Jacobs is too short to be a KPP. Dawson is a KPP but isn't/wont be AFL standard till he puts on more weight. Dowler is decent. Tim Boyle is overrated. Barker is MIA.

So basically we are relying on Croad, Franklin and Roughy?

You need a big key forward who can kick goals and will allow Williams to be the second option, and a big back man who can play on the mosters of the comp.

Hard work trying to find these in the draft.
That is why I am against trading KPP.

So true. Its times like this I regret trading Thompson and Hay ...

I'm not saying we'd be alot better off with them, but we just lack that big bodied KPP forward that so many other clubs have.

Melbourne: Neitz
Collingwood: Rocca
North: Kangaroos
Richmond: Richo
Carlton: Fev
Dogs: Grant
Brisbane: Brown
Freo: Pavlich

We have the ruck stocks and the midfielders to last us in good stead, but its time we turned out focus to big bodied KPP ...

True enough. But where is that really big bodied KPP that alot of other clubs do have. Sure Roughy and Buddy will grow bigger in stature in time, but the 'bulk' that players like Hay, Thommo, Holland and Barker possessed is something we sincerely miss about now ...

The KPPs we have traded had reached the point of being useless to Hawthorn, so trading was inevitable. I'm glad we're rid of them.

In some respects the Dawson experiment appears justified as more games pass as we are desperately short of quaility kpp.

As tonight showed if croad is fwd or injured are only option other kpp option than dawson that is more than a stop gap measure (eg smith) is roughhead.

Looking to the future, a fwd line with dowler, franklin roughhead and williams looks promising. Backline of croad & ...... is more of a worry. If we can unearth and fast track a kpp like dawson (not saying he's anywhere there yet) then we will be in a lot better shape.

Our key forwards are worse than our key backs.

But, Dowler will be very good and we'll need Roughhead, Franklin to step up in the coming years which will solve our forward KPPs. Croad and Jacobs are fine downback as long as we draft a 1st round KPP with size who can play back. Either that Roughhead stays back at FB, and we draft a KPP forward.

Having said all this, depth is needed I agree, Boyle, Barker, Dawson are as handy as Nick Stone was.

Glad we got rid of that hack Hay. Absolute nut case.

Thomo's got a couple of years left, and didn't want to be at the club, :D:D:D:D him off.
