This question occured to me the other night after a few too many crownies post-roos game; If West Coast made the grand final any time in the foreseeable future, which guernsey would you want them to wear?
Most sides tend to show up in their 'home' strip, simply because that is the one that has more meaning for the club. But for West Coast, we're in the wierd impression where the away jumper seems to have more tradition surrounding it, both in terms of its links to the 92 era jumper, but also just if you look at some of the wins we've had in it this year- v Collingwood, Brisbane, the derby, it seems as though we're building on that tradition pretty nicely.

For my mind, there'd be no contest- if we make a grand final in the next few years, I'd want to see us running out in the royal blue and gold- thats who we are.

crownies are easily my favorite beer.

...oh new jumpers. they have superpowers.

I've never liked crownies - but I have recently discovered what can only be described as the "nectar of the gods" in two beers brewed by little creatures, rogers and pale ale.

give em a go !!

Try the James Squire India Pale Ale - in fact all the James Squire range is good - Amber Ale, Porter and Pilsener as well as IPA.

Crownies are very passe and while they may be glorified Carlton Draught, Carlton Draught makes that Sterling look like flavoured urine.

i'm not really into any of the james squires. more of a bitters and pilsner drinker.

When you say "bitter" do you mean something like Emu Bitter or a real English bitter?

Tooheys do an excellent Pils; shame you can't get it in WA. I quite like the James Squires beers. Newcastle Brown is good stuff, and the Little Creatures Pale Ale is not bad at all, I can see how it would be described as a bit fruitish, but thats OK for a change. Carlton Draught is not bad for a basic mass-produced beer.

In fact most beer is pretty good, with the notable exception of Emu Export, VB, MB, XXXX and Tooheys New. All of which are urine.

Mmmmmmm, beeeerrrrr.

Beer!

Beer!

What was this thread originally about anyway? Oh, yes GF jumpers. I don't care unless the DB gets resurrected. I'd like to have the same jumper in the GF as in the PF though.

James Squire is by far the best beer in the land.........

as for the jerseys - I'd rather the away guernsey, but I have no problem with the home guernsey's either. I like both.

<hangs self>

Well, thats it, i'm off to discuss guernseys on the beer thread on the general board.

And incidentally, crownies all the way- anything else is mere puff and pretension.

How about they wear their 1987 jumpers with the dominant gold? I think everyone wouldn't care if the boys played nude - just as long as we made that Grand Final!!

As for beers - Crownies all the way!

Sure?

Anyway, a beer thread - finally something Jod can't reply to :)

And the MCG is not a home venue, so we wear the Away jumper. Simple really.

Yes, but just incase our away jumper clashes, we should just wear the ochre strip in case.

I'm all for it!!!

Definitely the away jumpers. They have the tradition behind them, plus we seem to play extremely well in them!

As for beer, every beer tastes horrible. Give me Bourbon anyday of the week, preferably Wild Turkey.

The away jumpers.

As for beer...YUK!!

Woodstock in cans or Wild Turkey Liquer with dry ginger ale.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

YUM!!
