Hi guys,

I am attending the grand final and if we manage to win i was planning on heading down to Geelong to celebrate, however i'm told the players will not be back in Geelong until the following morning?

Is this true? I'm thinking i might stay in Melb and then Geelong on the Sunday night?

Does anyone know the players movements in the case of a victory?

Yeah, that's true, I'm afraid.

From the club site:
SATURDAY 29 SEPTEMBER
Grand Final Dinner – 7.00pm – 12.00am

As allocated by the AFL, the club will be holding a grand final dinner. After allocating tickets for players and their families, match day staff and officials, plus sponsor entitlements unfortunately there were no remaining tickets for this function. We encourage all Geelong supporters to come to Skilled Stadium on Sunday for the free supporter’s day.

SUNDAY 30 SEPTEMBER
Supporters Day - Skilled Stadium – 11.00am – 4.00pm

Cats’ supporters are invited to Skilled Stadium to celebrate a fantastic 2007 season. Gates open at 11.00am with on stage activities from 12.00pm. The team will be presented at approximately 2.30pm. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day. Cats merchandise available for purchase. No BYO alcohol. Limited parking is available at the ground for $5 with all parking proceeds to United Way. Proudly presented by Geelong Football Club.

they stay in melb AFL comitments and club ones too back in geelong on the sunday.

Sounds good Shell. I'll be going to Fed Square for the presentation and then down to Geelong for a big night.:thumbsu:

If I head home Saturday night, you and Jess are more than welcome to spend the night at my place.

The AFL, according to someone at the AFL today, asked Geelong what they wanted to do and Geelong chose to have their function in Melbourne. The AFL is not happy that the Geelong members are having a crack at the AFL when Geelong had a choice.
So there is not going to be any presentation at the Town Hall. So as usual the members and supporters miss out!

Yeah, it was posted somewhere that the club chose that at the start of the season.

Good plan. I don't think my brain can even handle the thought of what to do at 5.30pm Saturday if we win. One hour at a time!

yep!! already got my hotel room booked.

Still showing my face at KP if we lose. So i hope all of you will too......
