6 mins into the 2nd quater and we were down 35 points. We now go into the 2nd half only 4 points down. Fantastic stuff. You can just sense this feeling of "LETS NOT PANIC - KEEP CHIPPING AWAY" - last year this would have been a flogging for us but Worslfold persists in showing faith in the buys. Very well coached. Also - you get the feeling of Worsfold absorbing some of the early battering, then applying his own pressure.

I wasn't surprised at how flat the guys looked in the first quarter following the derby game in hot humid conditions, the flight and only five days recovery. But I was surprised by the magnigicent comeback in the second quarter. Hard to understand Woosha taking Gardy off the ball and benching Roo and Cuz late in the third quarter, it gave the pies the initiative. And losing Milli was a big loss but Collica did better than expected. What a great debut for Judd.
Aren't we happy we kept Wilson and not Scotty now

And it was so nice to have such unbiased umpiring and fantastically fair commentary ( sad about them getting so nervous when Rocca kicks from less than 50m )

I think the umpiring favoured Collingwood in some parts and WCE in others.

It wasn't fair for either team IMO.

Braun on Holland showed how much we'll miss Phil Read this year

Plus, im a bit worried about Phil Matera, he's probably gonna get reported for that elbow to Lockyer

Im VERY glad that we kept Troy Wilson!!!! He did well for us! Better than Scootie (hamstring) There were alot of positives to take out of the game:

Yea...........

Went through my mind that Carroll would have matched up well on Holland.

I thought Lockyer moved right with his shoulder to shepherd Joey and Joey just reacted with his shoulder to the bump. The elbow may have made contact but I thought it was below shoulder height and therefore not raised or deliberate.

I also videod the game and looked at the no mark paid for the kick in by us not going 15m (ball up resulted) and found 2 pies kick in going to almost identical spots yet given as marks.

No doubt about that!! There was one instance where the kick in by Collingwood went less than the kick in by Taylor but was deemed 15m

Even the commentators said that it was "pretty fortunate"

pfft, if they said it then it was probably closer to 10m!!

The umpiring and the commentating was disgracefully biased today. Back to the bad old VFL days.

I listened to the radio rather than the TV commentary as soon as I found out that dipS*it Tony Shaw was on the team - sounds like he was up to his usual standard - I taped the game so I might have a listen and watch the game again after I have got over the frustation of a 1pt loss.

I remember the early days when Lou Richards used to bag the Eagles as much as possible during commentaries - he always was a tosser.

I also thought the umpiring sucked.
