Do you think that after the past 2 weeks performances people will begin to understand that we arnt that slow?

while i doubt they will i was really impressed with all of our quicker players last night Ramma Dyson Alvey McPhee and Bullen.

As well as being very happy with Solomons form i thought Rioli looked polished Mercuri seems to have found a nice little pocket of form and after half time Allen and Hille were brilliant in the ruck.

In my opinion this was a magnicicant game for us because. We didnt rely on Hird to get the ball out of the centre against quality midfielders in Scottland Stevens and Campo we didnt rely on Lloyd to kick a bag for us to win and because Bolton looks to have found a Niche along with our other vetrens performing when we need them 2 :D

I like how Hird is contributing on the scoreboard more even when as you say he didn't fire (though i thought he was more than good in the 2nd half).

Alvey showed he can be a real good for us and adds that pace. Very smart player.

Lovett Murray is the fastest bloke i can remember seeing in an Essendon jumper. Maurice Green in disguise.

To say that Essendon won and Hird didn't fire is slightly incorrect.
If you look at his impact over te entirety of the game - then sure he didn't fire.
But that 15 minute period in the third quarter when the Bombers broke away from Carlton was Hird at his best.
It was only when Hird fired up and started getting his best elusive touches - at both ends of the ground - that Essendon lifted and broke away.
I wonder if Hird had continued having little impact on the game - would the Bombers have been such convincing winners? Who knows?

However, what should be pleasing to Bomber fans is that they won without Lloyd kicking a bag.
It was good that you guys found some other scoring options. Particularly some of the long bombs that resulted in goals.
Lloyd, who have plenty of opportunities though.

Just my two cents worth.

Well said.

I still don't like this thing sheedy has with not embarrassing teams and taking players off in the last quarter. We really should have aimed for a 10 goal win, we need the %.

When we got to 55 points ahead we really should have kept coming at them. For some reason, he drags Hird, Fletcher as well (though he had sore ribs), puts Wellman up forward. Why?!

Agreed.

We sit at 2-2 but our percentage is only at around 80. It'll hurt later if we don't do something about that.

If you can flog'em, flog'em Sheeds. Other teams love doing it to us, I guarantee that (see Round 1).
