There are reports going around that Chris Scott looks like getting becoming the Top Cat ahead of Hinkley and Sanderson.

I hope not. Our assistants look to have been sensational, and Scott perhaps even a pivotal (sic) inclusion in that makeup.

To true and going to be a mad scramble to replace with pre season a month away, who would be on the radar and who is available?

From a purely selfish perspective I hope that he misses out. The man is talented and would be a vital component to our 2011 season.

If he does get the post then I will wish him all the best in reducing Geelong's slide. He can certainly bring out the best in the players that remain.

Hinkley would be crazy to take it, with all of the good work he's done so far at GC. Recon he might want to show off a bit more first!

Hinkley is an ex-Geelong player, and I don't think it is a bad time to come into the coaching role there. Sue they have some older players who will disappear, and GAblett going will hurt. But not a bad mid-tier core to build from. A gutsy cleanout next year and beyond, use the compo picks well.

It took Harvey a very long time to get a senior coaching gig.

I also hope he doesnt get the job.

Because i think he will be a very good coach and his input here will be missed.

Its only a matter of when an where he gets a full time coaching role def gonna happen soon :(

Damn... after he missed the Port job I thought we were safe for another year.

We were always going to lose him eventually, it's a good sign guys in our system are being headhunted for top jobs for a change. I think the last time it happened would have been Daniher 13? years ago?

Certainly a big factor. But there are not a lot of positions, and if Hinkley was offered the senior role at the Cats he would be absolutely crazy not to take it.

Yeah there seems to be a shelf life on how long assistants remain flavour of the month.

I remember 5-8 years ago Gary O'Donnell was constantly talked up as an inevitable coach in waiting superstar, now he's completely fallen off the head coach radar. Gotta take your chances when they come.

Sadly for us, our fitness guru, Mr Spinks, will also be going accross to Geelong with Scottie.

Couple big holes for us to fill, but all the best to them

I think they are pretty different roles, and a good assistant does not imply that they will be a good coach. Wouldn't mind O'Donnell here.

I have some concerns about what the impact of our team next year will be with the loss of those assistants. Also, as I understand it, Mitchell will be gone at the end of the next season too.
