Hello everyone!
My name is Germaine. I am a uni student, currently on holidays, thus I have plenty of time to while away on internet forums that tickle my fancy!
I am a passionate Melbourne supporter. Jared Rivers is my favourite player because he has a fabulous work ethic for a young bloke, followed closely by Aaron 'Danger' Davey, that kid is an excitement machine...both true godsends for Melbourne. I am a big fan of Matty Whelan and Phil Read - they are both crazy little men! I also love Adem Yze because he is tough and uncompromising, he knows how to dig the elbows in and get away it, I reckon he is tops! Plus, you can't help but admire his consecutive games record; he can always be counted on. Also, I love Yze because he recognises when his game is not at its best, and he takes the logical course of action to rectify the situation... Yes, that's right kids...he burns his boots! Hehehe... Yze is quite a character! Hell...I just love all them demons!
I am fairly new to footy though. I used to passionately dislike Aussie Rules...could never understand what all the fuss was about. Then, one fateful evening in 2001, I was fortunate enough to actually attended a footy match. The atmosphere was electric and engrossing...very different to watching it on TV. It was a MCG night match between Richmond and Melbourne. The Dees lost the game, but they won my admiration and support. This will be my forth year as a member and there is no turning back for me now...I have been well and truly converted! GO DEES!
Well, I guess I have prattled on for long enough. I look forward to all the parochial polemics and witty repartee that I expect will ensue...particularly once the footy season really gets started! But for now...toodle-oo!
