Injury Griff/Thomson out for the year

Give Griffiths a full pre season. Didnt look like he would dominate in the remaining matches.

That's curtains for Thomson. Good decision on Griff, I'm sure he could soldier on if we really needed him to, but we don't. He'll have the surgery and hopefully nip it in the bud, come back next year fully fit. We've had a good look at him so hopefully now Gourdis and Post will get a good crack, plus a few more games into Rance.

How disappointing for Giff. He was beginning to build some confidence. But best not to risk him, and let him fully recover.

I look forward to seeing next year.

Have been wathcing Ben closely after I got storng mail from a few recruiters last year that he doesn't comptete hard enough(in fact one siad he was a girl!).

Got to say I have seen plenty of evidence, including the awful fumble in the middle of the ground Sat when he took his eyes off it.
For a 100kg player, he certainly doesn't compete anywhere near hard enough and doesn't mark or even look like marking the ball often enough.

Thought Poat was a better betand hopefully will get a game now

His pick up at high speed at half forward in the Sydney game and sbsequent dish off to Newman for a goal was high quality. But then you put your mortgage on the result of that game so I guess you are still bitter.

Maybe not with BF posters, but someone who is obviously a half decent player, 22 years of age and is as tough as nails will keep Dimma interested even if its for a depth player for a year or two.

I'd have to agree with this.. Hislop cops a lot on this board but I think there is enough to work with to keep him on the list, even if only a depth player.. He's a good size, very hard at it, we need types like him and Rance to come on and start imposing themselves.. Def a lot of work to be done though but he's under the right coach..

Regarding Griff, obviously very disappointed he's injured but I think the right call has been made. He has had a taste now and has got a bit of a feel for the pace and intensity of AFL footy, should be chomping at the bit now to get himself right! :)

Good size, hard at it... that's where it ends. Got to have more than that to survive in the modern game. Hislop makes Tim Fleming look good. Massive dud and we would be going nowhere if we don't cut these types and look for better options. As for Thomson, he's even worse and I will be glad when he's gone.

Bad news on Griffiths. Shoulders are a worry considering his right shoulder was his good shoulder and they knew about his injury history when they drafted him. Hopefully he gets his body right.

The only reason we were playing Griffiths was to get some game time into him - the 'Get 50 games into the kids as soon as possible'.

His contributions were really rather poor - rather what you'd expect from an 18-year old KPF. If he was 24 he would have been dropped by now.

Still, it's good to have one coming through who can kick well.

What I'm trying to say is that he's had a taste, needs a lot of development, and now it's time for Post to see if he's made the next step. Griffiths will get his next go half way through 2012.

Riewoldt was only average until part way through his 3rd year. Big guys take time, and sometimes show very little in the early years.

Have you ever had a good root, great Pizza or magnificent beer, or is life just a big downer with nothing special to be happy about.
