As a tiger fan watching the game, I think richards is definately a future star in the ruck. Very athletic and has the smarts. You guys MUST play him every week. Essendon have done this will Hille and he's becoming a fine player. I also think deluca at carlton will be a champion very very soon. Could be another Paul Salmon.

Coming along fine. Starting to run with the ball and take contested marks, which is a positive sign about his confidence.

Apart from Dane Swan there's not much else to like amongst the younger Pies.

Like Guy.

His confidence is growing.

Leave him in coaching staff. No point sending him back to Willy especially seeing how this season is heading.

Has spent plenty of time at Willy already and shouldn't go back in the near future.

I'd like to see where he will play when not in the ruck. Can we keep Rogan as a full time forward when he gets back???

Abso-bloody-lutely.

When Guy Richards was dropped for Round 6, I was very happy.

Now with his duties as our only ruckman, he has grown in confidence and gained more courage. He has got better each week he has played.

Watching from the stands on Saturday, it looked like Guy Richards may have lost us. reason - What it looked like was Ian Prendergast was getting every hand on the ball in the ruck.

I still haven't watched the replay on tv to see if this is true - can any one tell me if Prendergast won the vital final quarter hitouts.

Not sure about the hit out tally for the last quarter, but he was Guy was tired in the last and did get beaten around the ground.

I thought that Anthony was wasted in the forward line int he last. Towards the end of the quater he took the centre bounce and then moved to Half forward, should of kept him in the middle or loss across the half back line.

Jason Cloke ran around the ground in the ruck for the last quater. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. We missed Cameron Cloke!!!

I tnink he needs a little more weight, he looks a little small, he's ball skills need a lot of work aswell. Not bad so far, but still has a long way to go.

Was Looking alright on Saturday. Going along Nicely.

Needs a bit More weight. Not Too Much just a bit more, more confidence = more hitouts with this bloke.

i really like having guy richards on our team.
he played his best game by far against the blues and he is only going to get better.
when we have fraser back, i think richards and fraser should do 50-50 ruckwork.
josh fraser helps add to our tall forward line, already boasting anthony rocca and chris tarrant.
let's hope josh comes back soon, fit and well, and guy richards improves more!

On fair bounces, he gets hitouts, which both Josh and McKee struggle with, or he creates a good contest.

Eitherway, it's good for us. It would be nice to have both MCG and Burnsy in the middle, fighting for the disputed pill, whilst the more free running finishers, will hopefully read his play a bit better over time.

He appears to do most things for the most part, cleanly, with the chance of infringing, relatively low. His strength is an issue, but like Josh, we are forced to concede strength to the bigger lads.

He broke even with a mediocre ruckman on Saturday. That's OK, but it will be better when we a) get our midfield back, and b) can play Josh as a utility.

Guy doesn't get a lot of it around the ground, but at least doesn't look like a spaz when he gets it.

Josh out ain't good for us. Richards in the ruck full time ain't bad for him, or us in the long term.

I'm impressed with Richards, but the test will be whether Mick Malthouse is prepared to play him when Josh and/or Cam Cloke is there. It's been obvious that when he's gotten game time he's done pretty well (especially when you consider that he is only about 19 or 20 and most ruckman don't peak until late 20s).

I think it's time to start playing Fraser and Richards into sharing the ruck duties, along with Cam Cloke and Rocca in the forward line who can part-time ruck when required, and I think that will solve our ruck problems long term (as long as people are patient enough to allow that to happen).

Anyway JMO.

he has taken some good pack marks overhead though this year.

im happy with the way richards is going in the ruck, was pretty good against blues, didnt totally dominate...
he and swanny are the only good young fellas, also cam cloke, on our list
will be good in the future alongside swanny cam cloke and davidson, who i also forgot to mention
