Sounds like he did a great job on the weekend.

I must confess I don't know anything about the guy. Where did he come from?

Player Profile - Robert Haddrill (Rookie List)

No. 42
Date of birth 23/01/81
Height 187cm
Weight 86kg
AFL Debut
Recruited from Perth (WA)
Career Games 3
Career Goals 0

Retained on the rookie list, the 20-year-old has a reputation as a tough defender who can also be thrown into attack when required. Should offer a bit more strength than the usual newcomer and his style may be useful

haddrill is going to be great he showed us that he can play great footy in an important match

but more importantly from the words of a channel 7 commentator "justin longmuir will win a brownlow medal sometime during his career as a football player"
the words may have changed a bit but it doesn't matter
and i think for the first time this season we actually had a strong forward line

Hadrill was great on Saturday, and he's definitely got enough potential that the Dockers should hang onto him.

Having said that, its a bit premature to label him a star, don't you think? Freo hae had so many guys come through who have shown just enough to get us excited, but never really delivered on the promise, so I'm reserving judgement for another 12 months or so.

thats a good idea

Haddrill a future star?

Hehehehehehe, who?

Thats the craziest claim anyone could make. A good game and suddenly he's a superstar? Earlier in the year people were saying Cousins doesn't deserve star status, and now some Haddrill is a future star?

well F*ck me sideways, I guess Josh wooden is a future superstar aswell. He has averaged about 20 possessions over the last month, surely he qualifies. Ohh, and lets throw in Darren Bolton as well(remember him) , i mean anyone as talented as them have to be a future superstars

Seriously people, i don't mean to offend any of you, but some of the claims you make about your list are laudable.

With all due respect d-4-E have you even seen the guy play? My guess being in victoruia, and your question of 'who?' leads me to say no.

The question was asked, is he a future star - not he is now, or he is definately going be - seemd like the question was 'will he be?'

I agree it is way to early to tell, but I don't think there is any need for comparisions to Josh - (the mere fact that crab is on your list, let alone gets a game, is testament to your lack of depth and lacking on 2nd tier players) is harsh for anyone ... well maybe not trolldo, but anyone else! ;)

So really, all up, is there anything wrong with specualtion over a rookie list player, who stood tall and took 8 or so marks, and 20 possesions possibly becoming the real deal?

kuepper - Can you please clarify who 'crab' is? I've been going through the Eagles squad lists for the past 2 years and there has been no players mentioned under 'crab'. I can only assume you mean Jaxon Crabb who was delisted from our squad 2 years ago - he's currently playing for Claremont.

LOL :D :D :D

that crab, refers to josh - he is a crab player! ;)

And while you are there, yes Crabb was also a crab - o the irony!

Read my original posting;

Haddrill a future star?
After a 12 kick, 10 handballs and 7 marks display Robert Haddrill has emerged to become a player with a future at the Dockers

Just to clarify my posting I only asked the question is Haddrill a future star as a heading, the rest of my message points out that he has emerged as a player with a future at the dockers. At no stage did I use the words Super-Star to describe Haddrill.
At this stage he is only playing for his future at Fremantle and along way of being a star player-what ever that is.
Thanks for all the comments to the posting.:)

Sounds like the "Troy Wilson Syndrome".

One good game and everyone was patting themsleves on the back and saying what a stroke of genius it was to recruit him.

troy wilson wasnt a joke by the WCE recruiting staff he has been important to the eagles this year when their forward line hasnt been its best
but when i have watched the eagles play with him playing i haven't really seen him do anything super just injure a few players but i have only watched a few games
i still think we had the better 27 yr old draftee
for their first year
bootsy has had a bad run with injuries this year

LOL, good one :)

For what it's worth, I think Haddrill should be a great talent for you. His disposal at times is superb for someone with so little experience....

Now, onto the Troy Boy Wilson thing.... I don't like that he hurts players, but the fact that he provides a physical presence (something we've missed) is what really matters IMO. Anyway, I doubt he'll be around for too long.... more of a form of short term security while our smaller young midfielders develop a bit :) Mind you, seeing him streaming up the ground towards a pack is pretty damn good, except when someone gets hurt. Especially since he's just so.... 'simple' in his play? Get ball, Kick goal... who cares what happens in the meantime.... lol....

Anyway, I hope he likes Derbys! ;)
