Hanners rebooted

There has been a fair bit of poting over Hanners disposal (yes I pot a couple as well ) , but there is only 1 Paul Kelly, but Hanners attack on the footy has gone too another level. He was once admired as a potential outside gun mid, but that has gone , as he now is going to contests only the Kelly's, Bolton's and Kirk have gone. With that I worry how his body is going to hold up and for you lot that are having a crack at his disposal, just have a better look at what this champ is doing to his body for his and our club.
Look at the soft c@@ks from Melbourne clubs , like Cotchin and Murphy, who are called elite, they shouldn't be on the same ground as Hanners !

Bullshit , go to OPSM. It's not about that , surely you have some footy smarts, JPK, is a big mid who is not quick, whereas Hanners is an elite runner who can do both. Bringing JPK in to the conversation is not on, as that's what it's not about.

Hanners is a gun. A kamikaze that will probably shorten his career eventually by going in with reckless abandon. Thats why i dont pot him about disposal if he was loping around doing nothing and butchering it then i would. But hes one of my favorites of all time

He seems to be far more capable of hitting opponents lace out in the clear (see that pass to Towers, 1v3) than hitting a Swans player. Anyone that goes at sub 35% DE with more than 30 disposals is having a shit game.

I love his hardness and toughness and attack on the ball. I don't like how rash and fast he is with his disposals and his decision making appears to be getting worse as the season goes on. Mitchell is often lauded for his ability to find the ball and pump it out by hand with amazing accuracy, but has always been derided for his blinkers when using his foot. Hanners kicks the ball like a first gamer.

The guy needs to simplify his decision making and just hit the basic 90% targets. Play the Sam Mitchell role - win the ball, dish it off to someone who can kick it.

That was the defining moment, to me that turned the game , as we wouldn't be bullied by that scum and that's where we let ourselves down 2 years later. Paul Kelly is my all time fav swans player, but he is a long time retired so now lives in glorified air, he was not the most skilful player either, its actually not a bad comparison when you think about it

Is it a pointless thread though? I feel the talk about Hanners being a shit kick has been overdone on this board of late.
His attack on the ball HAS gone to another level this year, and given this was the area in which we failed so miserably in the 2014 grand final, it's worth highlighting, in my opinion, especially as we head toward another finals campaign. Feel free to disagree.
