Clive is BACK. He is more accurate than ever! Gilmore showed a lot in the match and with the moustache comp, I suspect by Round 1, we will see a fair few porno moustache's if ya know what I mean ;)

Only downside is that Pav, Medders played shockers and that J-Lo can't kick for c*ap. And we lost cos of that!

Gilmore looked good ...Cunningham shocking.

Pre-season game only but I think he may have lifted himself to the the fringes but not quite in the best 22 (yet)

Why is it that each time I see Ben Cunningham play, I wonder why on earth the coaching staff are persisting with him....?

Anyone??

Cause he won that game for us against the Saints after the siren.

One game - two seasons ago. And it wasn't after the siren, there was still a couple of minutes to go (although no more scores).

He's an honest tryer, but he's just Not Very Good...

Probably be a great, consistent and lively WAFL player. Let him do what he's good at.

A very pertinent comment IP, he has never been able to kick properly(unbalanced when he kicks) and makes mistakes at critical times. Doubt he will see much action this season, as long as he is in the team there is a weak link.

It is a very rare thing to find me bagging a one of our players... Normally I like to give them the benefit of the doubt, I realise that they are usually playing their butts off, that they have made the commitment to be the best that they can be for themselves, their team and Our Club.

But Ben Cunningham frustrates the living bejesus out of me... Seriously, he's had his chances and he must be just about out of them. And for all his "I am trying, really" - I think it's fairly obvious that he just aint got it. And my feeling is that he aint gonna get it.

"Happy" on the other hand - I thought he was great!

I'm still getting past J-Lo's kicking! SHOCKING! Although Clive whenever he had a shot he nailed it. Good to see.

Dunn still young, made a few mistakes but more than made up for them with his general play!

I doubt Cunningham will play another game with our club, nor should he. I thought he was a certainty to get delisted last year; he definitely will this year. Gotta feel sorry for him because he tries so hard.

He played very well for Claremont last year at times, but doesn't even come close to translating it to the AFL. He has less poise than anyone else I've seen playing in the AFL and loses confidence quickly. That causes his disposal to go everywhere and the resulting t/o always hurts us badly. Then seems to spend time cursing himself rather than getting on with it. Same thing happened against Geelong last year. Everytime he gets near the ball, he just seems to get so nervous. Not up to it.

Clive I'm not convinced about yet, but he should be in there fighting for a spot in our best 22.

J-Lo was alright I thought yesterday, it what seems to be a new role for him.

benny just lost his spot in the squad, and his replacements have done really well.

he's not all that bad really... just not as good.

Thornton is a stay at home defensive player and very well regarded by the FFC. When fit - I'd rate Thornton in our best 22.

Cunningham is a real tryer who is definetly not AFL class IMO. I rate Colreavy and Browne streets ahead of Cunningham at the moment. If he could fix his disposal he would be.

On the positive - ever seen anyone work as hard on a mark as Cunningham?

Agreed. Thornton will be a very solid defender and I'd have him in our 22 as well.

And I don't think it's disposal with Cunningham that's the problem. It's his poise and decision making. Everytime the ball comes near him, he just tries and rushes everything and doesn't back his own ability. That causes his disposal to go everywhere. That is very hard to fix. Doubt he will get a run in the AFL this season.

What it seems like is that he is Craig Bolton when he was at Brisbane. Could do no wrong in the reserves but when he actually got a game at senior level, he'd choke and stuff up! Like in the Port game last year, kept throwing away possession.

Agreed, he's a handy guy but STILL I'd have cunningham ahead of him! Thornton needs more games to prove me wrong!

I am delighted to announce that maybe I was WRONG!! Now I'm not often wrong about anything (;) - just ask my husband) - but I saw the second half on Sat and thought Cunningham looked very good. Now I read that the first half was his blinder. Good on ya Benny - back it up with a few more like that and I'll be happy to change the "maybe I was wrong" to "yep - I was wrong!".

It's in his AFL games he has been most impressive. Coaching staff speak highly of him and I do too.

As for Cunningham, glad to see him play better on the weekend but my opinion of his abilities won't change until he can back it up, and in a game that actually means something.

As a mate said before the game, Cunningham had 10 daggers in his back, he now has 7.

Make that 6. Although I havn't bagged him I did have some doubts. He does add a lot in close as he is hard to bump off the ball and is one player who improves our clearance problem. Hopefully his new kicking action will improve his disposal.
